Battlefield 3 PS3 vs PC: 720P HD Video Comparison

How did i know this was going to happen , it's not even a fair comparison condescending that the Ps3 version has to look the same as the 360 version even though DICE can do more .

Not much at all.
All the major differences you see from the PC versions can be attributed to DX11, Tessellation. Higher FP for HDR. Higher quality textures. All real time effects...Not just part of the time...
Just to name just a few.
These features are non existent in the consoles versions...so how would the PS3 really standout over the Xbox360 version then if if can't perform all those listed above like the PC that make the PC version stand out above the console version?
The irony is if they make this game for the new Wii and use it's RUMORED hardware, that version would be the closest to the PC

Every single GPU released now and from last year have Tessellation in its hardware.
Even the aging Xbox360 GPU has tessellation in its hardware(1st generation)
Enabling Tessellation for games now is more common especially when these games are coded in DX11

And even then it wouldnt be close to the pc version .

The comparison here is fair enough , it shows that the game still runs fine and stacks well enough in comparison

It's going to continue to happen. Let's face it, the PS3 and 360 are both outdated (by PC standards,) so it's no surprise that they don't look as good as the PC.

It's going to be that way until the next gen consoles come out, but even then PC will always been 5 steps ahead.

I wish that weren't the case, but remember that if you want a beastly system it's going to cost you in the thousands. My PC is pretty damn good for a laptop (i7 720M processor, GTX 460m, 8GB of Ram etc.) and I can play Darksiders, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Crysis all in 1080p without issues (not on max for Crysis.) However, even though my system is badass...it wasn't cheap. These new consoles will likely have gigs of ram and have solid video cards, but they still have to be reasonably priced and I'm certain that Sony learned it's lesson from the PS3 and PSPgo so I doubt that the PS4 is going to be outrageously powerful like a PC.

People are looking too much into the graphics comparison where it's the destruction, sounds, physics and so on which are identical on both platforms which matters most.

When sitting back on a couch the small little details don't really matter that much to people aslong as they're getting a great gaming experience out of it.

you are right DICE outdid themselves. But you missed that the PC version also has DX11, better textures, better frame rate, v-sync, better draw distance, better anti-aliasing, better AF, tessellation, motion blur, 64-players, massive maps...etc

Missing HD, good filtering and effects; softshadows, DX11 for millions of free triangles added into any scene.

A small thumbnail; it might look the same, but on a big screen PC games just have a drastically better level of clarity.

BF3 PC is light-years ahead of the console in terms of the processing power being used.

This looks the best graphics on ps3 to me. Sony fanboys will rage disagree but killzone and uncharted can't match this.

Wow, PS3 version looks amazing. PS3 version will be ported to Xbox, so only expect a slight scale down on the Xbox version, but overall all games will look top notch on every platform.
