Disregard Assassin's Creed Review, says Empire

CVG reports that the following message was posted on the Empire website earlier today:

"Assassin's Creed

Please note that the early review of Assassin's Creed that appeared here was published in error. The review contained misleading information about the game's control system which should be disregarded. Please wait for the final, full review, which will be published online on November 16th."

What you expected? Obviously a major gaming site will publish the first legit review of Assassin's Creed.

or mistakenly visit it.

Remember how I said in the update when I posted the review yesterday,I said that the review was "questionable" and a lot of you didn't believe me.Well I told you so.I said I had that written as a "just in case" kinda thing and well it was the case.I don't mean to gloat but I've been looking forward to this game and not to mention I WAS RIGHT.So whats so "questionable" about Empire well now you know.I knew something wasn't right with the timing. So you can all put it back on your list now theres a jump button.I'll finish this with "I Told You So".Oh and I can't wait to get my Limited Edition.

Superb find and great comment.

But this does not decrease credibility of Empire. They are a FILM / CINEMA mag/site and the area their vote counts is the movies and their reviews.

ATLRoAcH4870d ago

Once again the review is what I questioned and yes I could tell they were more about movies. And as a movie review site they seem good. All I'm saying is that I thought something was up with the review and I was right.I'm also glad the "no jump button" thing is not true.I wonder what the real deal was with the review?Maybe someone got fired.

Who can you trust? Yes, we can all wait for 'legit' sites but Empire just blew it on the controls. Of course they achieved the inner intention (site hits). This is why the Gameinformer review system is good. Always have a second opinion.

Kuest4870d ago (Edited 4870d ago )

I mean let's not forget that Empire ISN'T a gaming magazine. So, although a legit source, it would be foolish to take any reviews from that site seriously.

They're "expert" opinion is no better than mine (if not worse- how many games has the journalist played?)

lynx1halo4870d ago

and all of those people in the previous post that were bashing anyone saying bad things towards I can gladly say serves you right...they see now how the pitfalls of blind loyalty can hurt

Meus Renaissance4870d ago (Edited 4870d ago )

I hope to make an official site that reviews games. That's one of my goals in life.

P.S. Someone just came out of the toilet and it smells like a dead pig in there, oh god.

Kuest4870d ago (Edited 4870d ago )

I'm curious- what do you plan to name your site?

Or do you know yet?

yes, a disagree!

I ADORE disagrees. So, if you admire Kuest, keep em coming... I know its really just a sign of your love. How sweet.

edit 2:

AHHH, I'm in ecstasy! Thank you, jaja.

For your generosity , I will award you w/ bubbles AND an agree. Because that's how I show MY love...

jaja14344870d ago

Then I shall give you one more!
But I gave you a bubble to so I think it evens out in the end.

Meus Renaissance4870d ago (Edited 4870d ago )

Sound good?

Kuest4870d ago (Edited 4870d ago )

That simply will not do... You need something more creative, like
"gaming-emporium", or "the exclusive nerd pit. com"

In any case, it has to be something that just screams out *unique*. I'm not digging "start-game", man. You deserve so much better... but if that's what you like, go for it!

edit: I think I fixed it now.

jaja14344870d ago

Coming for a somewhat web designer, try not to have and "-,~,%,_" or anything of that sort in a web address for you index. Its ok for anything inside the site itself, but in general you want to keep your main site address as simple as possible.

the devs got hold of Empire and hit them over the knuckles for spilling the beans on the controls, thereby possibly hurting sales.
I don;t think you have to be a gaming-exclusive site / person to be able to tell that you have no control over the timing of jumps and leaps etc.
IF this is true (about the controls), I will definately pass on AC as that is one of the main things that had me interested in it.

Kuest4870d ago

but you do have to admit that Empire's review was a bit, uh, generic. Virtually nothing was revealed beyond what has already been shown in previous demos. Quite literally, I could have written that review based just upon the several previews I've read from ign and gamespot!

What I'm saying is- let's wait for "official" reviews from actual GAMING magazines to inform us as to whether or not the control schemes for AC work. You have to remember that AC is a hardcore game and, therefore, might not be fully appreciated by the average consumer (or, in this case, reviewer) for its complex design.
