Nintendo Co. last week disclosed to-date sales for the company's blockbuster Wii sales that total near Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360, a product that held a year head start. Nintendo reported sales of 13.2 million Wii units worldwide to date. The same week, Microsoft disclosed in a Q1 earnings report sales of 13.4 million Xbox 360 units worldwide.
In contrast, demand for Sony's PS3 has been lackluster due to high cost and average game library. The hardware sold 119,000 units in Sept. in the U.S., far below the Xbox 360 and Wii. The hardware has sold about five million units worldwide to date.
This holiday will be a crucial factor in which console will reign supreme this generation. Wii and Xbox 360 look to crash head-to-head while Sony may recoup lost sales with a new $399 40GB SKU. Take a seat, the video game wars are about to blow up.
The Wii is hot on the Xbox360's heals. The last time it was reported that the Wii had passed it in sales Halo 3 was released an gave it a boost. Now with it set to happen again what will Microsoft put out to extend their lead?
Well MS reports shipped and Nintendo reprots sales to consumers. So for as many consoles MS has in retail stores and homes Nintendo has in homes alone.

This is in their financial reports.....This is the only solid info on Sales for companies. VG charts and all those other sites are never close to accurate. But then again how could they be?
Wow, this is wierd, I thought Wii surpassed 360 a while back. I guess Halo 3 had something to do with it.
" The numbers for MS are "SOLD" numbers as well, thus it say's "SALES".
Yes, sad little sony is 250% behind the Wii in sales, and the Xbox 360. Xbox 360 is still number one for now. Wii will probably pass them in 2008, maybe not, but one things for sure, the ps3 never will.
Accept it and move on."
Hm, I really wouldn't be so sure, now in late 2008, 2009 you could be but it's way too soon to be saying things like this.
In any case, with Mario coming out this year and with SSBB, etc, etc, Wii will kill 360 and PS3 and be the top dog.
