Don’t Worry, X-COM Is Better Than You May Think (GameBlurb Double Preview)

Turn based strategy > first person shooter ;P

Yeah...

I was looking forward to X-Com Alliance at the time, because I also like tactical shooters. But now, the market almost have nothing but shooters, so I really want some TBS games.

I am sure that the new XCOM will be pretty funny to play, but why the hell call it XCOM, when it doesn't share jack shit with the old series?

XCOM is now a US branch of security against aliens. In the original, they were independent, free from all and any nation.

The aliens are a new type and for what I have seen, shares nothing at all with the original.

Ummmm NO the hell it isn't. They have totally screwed this game up.

Xcom is another example of every publisher wanting a COD clone which is a major problem with the industry.

I can't believe these idiots have taken a classic RTS and turned it into a crappy and not well made FPS. All they had to do was fix the minor issues with Xcom RTS, add better graphics and expand the game, instant hit but Nooooooo they totally screwed it up.

Yep, she really liked to make things. Like holes in walls – she loved to make those. Dead Advent? She enjoyed making them, too. She liked making dust and pulp, essentially, from things that were once solid and properly formed. It was her calling, she said."

Top 10 Permadeath Games

Gamerant

Permadeath gaming has seen a huge resurgence over recent years. Giving players a single life or character with which to complete the game, games with permanent death as a mechanic are notoriously difficult, tasking players with keeping upmost concentration throughout their playthrough. More often than not, attempts may end in tears – but that won’t stop players from trying their hand once more.
