Guitar Hero III gets offline mode with patch on 360

Those who fired up their new copies of Guitar Hero III yesterday might have been disheartened to find that the game lacked the offline co-op quickplay mode. Luckily (for a portion of you, at least) that's going to be addressed with a quickness, thanks to a patch that 1UP says is coming this Tuesday to Xbox Live.

The bad news is that there's no word of similar treatment on the Wii or PS3 versions so far, but hopefully it's not too far off. We're not sure what's so difficult about offline co-op quickplay that it had to be addressed with a patch, but we're happy that Activision seems concerned enough about it to act on it so quickly. Of course, that's not much comfort to those without internet or (we're looking at you new Arcade owners) a hard drive to save the patch on.

Ouch -- that's far from ideal, especially for those new Arcade 360 owners!

Still, I'm kinda keen to pick the game up, but I think I may wait a little while first.

blusoops6023d ago

I thought off-line co-op play was already available in GH2...why would they have trouble w/ GH3?!

Retro-Virus6023d ago

Sadly,

The GH-2 controllers for the PS-2 with a "PS-2 to USB adaptor" does not work with GH-3 on the PS-3 :(((

probably no space on DVD for include offline co-op quickplay mode. ;)
PS3 Blu-Ray have no space problem.
Wii graphics takes less space.

probably not but i post for fun. (and desagree from 360 owner loll)

reading comprehension wasn't your strongest subject in school.

malingenie6023d ago

Yeah, please read before you post. The same problem plagues all platforms.

ItsDubC6023d ago

lol, is that Mark Dacascos in your avatar?

mithril6023d ago (Edited 6023d ago )

yes it's Mark Dacascos on Crying Freeman, this film is Banned in canada. I do Kung-Fu with Al Dacascos (father's Mark) many years ago.

And yes i know all platform have the same game and mode, I think it's a time release problem, Red Octane want the game for christmas and probably this part not finished yet.

and my post is sarcasm, but i explain my post, if you doing game and game not fit on DVD you can remove a part of game on ALL platform for not Frustrate owner. And after that offer update on all platform. it's a Politically correct solution for that kind of problem.

but i know it's not the probleme here, it's a sarcasm.

excuse me for my unclear post :)

A patch. The 360 gets "priority" over the PS3....AGAIN!

Q: What does the PS3 have?

A: A broken game on day 1.

Patch B3y0nd!

mithril6023d ago

The list just shows how pedestrian the taste of the general audience is.

Really depressing list across all platforms.

A Case for Rhythm Games; Why We Need Guitar Hero

COGconnected - It seems like the era of rhythm game dominance has come and gone but we argue that there's still room for them if they make a few key changes.

Guitar Hero? Sure. Activision greed and bulls**t? No thanks.

subtenko2462d ago

No we DONT need guitar hero or rockband. These games have had 7+titles each console cycle and Im tired of these being the mainstream and practically only focused on musical game.

Amplitude was brought back for PS4 yet with the tech and magic of DLC we didnt get it because not only gamers but devs have become out of touch.

Thumper impressed many and is at least a step in the right direction. I rather have more games like thumper. So screw all this rockband and Guitar hero BS! Take your guitars and peripherals and break them in half!
