OXM UK: "Forza Motorsport 4's Autovista interactive showroom mode was built primarily for Kinect, with controller support folded in later, according to Turn 10's Dan Greenawalt."
As long as they leave the driving to controllers, they can have as many touchy-feely pimp my motor modes as they like.
That the main controller of this game was going to end up the Kinect as far as racing is concerned it's Controller first, Wheel second and Kinect third. Kinect controlled racing is for kids and drunk people.... On the other hand of course Autovista is first Kinect the mode wants you to feel like your actually standing next to the car and able to reach out to it.
I spend very little time admiring my cars, I spend more time racing them.
Head tracking makes sense went driving, as I do tend to move my head when playing racing games. I am sure many other do. It will be interesting to see how that improves immersion. Oh wait, I will need kinect first.
Autovista is the lamest bolt on feature I've ever seen. The great thing about something like Forza is it enables me to experience a load of cars I'll probably never drive in real life. If I want to look at those cars I'd go to a car show such as Supercar Sunday at Gaydon (UK) which I've attended 5 times. I have no desire to virtually walk around a computer game car! I'd prefer it if Turn 10 had spent the last 2 years perfecting their tyre model or handling physics....
Lo at the disagrees! I guarantee that once you've used Autovista for 10 minutes its feature you'll never use again, mark my words.
