After the Wii successor, Wii U, was revealed this morning, Nintendo detailed two unique functions of the giant touchscreen controller: video calls and web browsing.
Next step of talking in consoles. Video Chat...MS no longer social console king.
PS3 has had video chat since launch, free.
I like all these miiu features. Really thinking hard if I should buy one or not...
If this bad boy can have my friends on the controller in real time while the multiplayer game is on hdtv, then i'll be very impressed! Just a thought... Video calls are a great addition...
hrmm not interested in socil networking on my console showing new games new ips not remakes rehashes sidestoreys and existing stuff please this e3 seriously disapointed me
Hey... Hey you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
chanmasta. sorry i didn't punctuate to your satisfaction I was on my phone by all means here. ...,,...,,,.:???''' ;';;; feel free to use it on my post
@jere I agree with 100% I don't care about all this social networking stuff on my consoles, they are for gaming. And I really would love for Nintendo to create new and fresh IPs instead of living off of the nostalgia. Question does anyone think the the devs at Nintendo are skilled enough to create new IPs, because all they do is just release their same franchises with different levels in them?
Really guy tables can do this already and PS3 and 360 have video chat again welcome nintendo to the current gen
Um... can the Xbox 360 and PS3 controllers do it?
you got me there its not like you'll be near you tv anyway with kinect or the ps eye( up to 6 people video chat) but yeah you just owned me. GTFOOH with that weak reply, PSv can do the same facetime with front and rear cameras yet we are not talking about it because of the beautiful OLED HD screen and rear touch, and games wiiu controller is a tablet with a joystick its not even multitouch, get over it @Stephen5543 its a game controller it will be near you console where you kinect or ps eye is, so yeah
It's not an amazing feature by any means, but with the PS3 and 360 you have to be directly in front of where you placed the camera. Since it's on a controller for the WiiU you can just stay within wireless range of the system, and have a video call. So you can do it anywhere in your house instead of just right in front of the tv. I think that that's pretty neat.
Actually, you can walk around your house with the WiiU controller so you can video chat 24/7.....
I just feel they're trying to add to much to this "controller"(which really looks like a tablet with analog control) theres been like no word on the actual controller itself
Yeah, there isn't much to know about the console at the moment, but Reggie Fils-Aime said in an interview that the point of this E3 was to reveal the controller and let everyone know what it can do. He went on to say that they'll be discussing the system and it's functionalities later. (Idk if it's bit by bit throughout the coming year or in one announcement.)
oops I meant console not controller lol
yes video chat over what??? skype? msn? what? if its onli wii u to wii u then WTF nintendo this is old shit
good stuff good stuff
Some new and original IPs would be better.... I'm just sayin
Sounds pretty cool.
