An uncut video of the Wii U tech demo has surfaced on Youtube.
still want to see full specs
Do not really get why people keep talking about specs. If you want specs, go PC. The gfx looks nice, but again, if I want top of the line gfx, ill go PC (Well, I do have a PC). I want to see whats possible gameplay wise with this new console.
"If you want specs, go PC." That makes absolutely no sense, knowing the specs of the console will help us in knowing whether fully fledged games on the WiiU can produce the graphics shown in this tech demo. Knowing what the product you've purchased has inside is a good thing.
The specs matter for this machine in particular. Why? Because if nintendo want this to sell to the core market as they have kept on about, they matter. If Nintendo have something more powerful than Ps3 and 360, then they need to shout it from the rooftops so the core will take note. They need to bang on about how good their online service will be for this machine. The fact that they haven't in either case, could be worrying. It is for me.
Looks really impressive but I want to an actual game running on the console before drawing any opinion.
Is an impressive looking tech demo, but tech demos usually are. As smurfz said, will reserve judgement until they show an actual game.
Well, that's an actual game: http://www.youtube.com/watc...
nice find. im really impress with the way Nintendo step up their game. Zelda in HD is a dream come true.
why they didn't show the full thing during the conference. I want to see real games though, as the others above me already stated.
We need to see actual game play. Saying that, if the specs are true to the rumor than expect to see some impressive console level graphics then
Looks really nice, but most tech demos do, cant help but wonder if this is going to be the most exspensive controller ever created and something you dont want kids to touch.
good question man. i went to my gamestop yesterday, and well i know nothings confirmed with the wii U as far as prices go, but the ones there did seem confident "somehow" that the wiiU controller will run 100 bucks. just saying- i dont know whether to believe it or not. still want more info from nintendo. but if you think about it with nintendo, the 100 dollar price point for the screen controller ill call it, seems about right to me. just wanted to put this out there, but trust me i know i know it is gamestop lol
Every one above me said the exact same thing, lol
If games look like this when running (meaning when I play it I have full control and it looks like this,) then all my questions about Wii U have been answered and I can have rest assured. If it's anything else, then I have more questions than answers.
It's pretty obvious every core gamer wants to see the official specs. If it has the rumored specs released last week, then ill be ready to camp out for this overall true next beast. If the specs are released and it turns out to be on par with the 360/ps3 .... then, I will pass.... no matter how much I like the WiiU controller, the Wii showed me that I'm not one to be playing on console that is considered last gen.
yea i get ya there. im 31 yrs old and even though i "started" on an atari, nintendo was really the first system me and my older bro played on. loved it! and i still have my snes. i owned a gamecube for sometime, but sold it after it went through a real rough gaming drout back then. when nintendo showed the wii, i knew day one i wasn't interested. my attitude hasn't changed, but with wii U i can honestly say i am interested, and may buy one. the controller looks cool, and the biggest thing about nintendo's conference to me was their emphasis on 3rd party support- something that nintendo with their other systems didn't give 2 shits about. seeing ghost recon, and the other announced titles that are confirmed for this system gives me hope they nintendo is coming back to what made the nes and snes so damn good. sure the footage from some was 360/ps3 versions, but this console still doesn't launch til nov 2012, so i understand why it wasn't shown on wii U. def keeping an eye on this thing, really wanna know the specs, and can't wait to see what micro and sony offer with their next systems. i also hope nintendo does get a real online service, that to me is important as well. guess in 2012 we will see how well this system is received in the market, but one things for sure only fools doubt nintendo. be good man
Looks kinda like 3DMark01, so 10 year old graphics I guess. Yay..
I like how everyone is slanting this yet when Microsoft and Sony showed off tech demos for their systems, everyone had nerd-gasims. No one stopped to questions the demos. The main culprit was Killzone. Everyone was praising that thing.
That Was Back In 2005. Its Now 2011
Yea it was and look how long it took PS3 and Xbox to finally show the visuals it promised. This generation has ultimately proved one thing, how much of a graphical whore alot of gamers have become. Epic showed off their Unreal Engine 4 (which will be used for next gen gaming) yet everyone bashed the hell out of what was shown. That is the tech that will be powering the next round of consoles and people still weren't impressed. Most gamers today have become far to demanding and spoiled. Period.
Killzone 2 was confirmed to be CG when it was at E3 though. It wasn't rendered on a PS3 or even real time, an outside studio made it. This is literally running in real time and you have control of the camera somewhat, so you know it is ACTUALLY the real deal, unlike the KZ2 CG trailer.
Might get it. If I can't muster up the money to buy a PS4 and wiiu in the next three or so years doing my job then I really fail at life.
yep. this and of course what the ps4 will be offering has me stoked! hope i can afford stuff in 3 yrs too man. the economy sucking ass though :( one thing i have to mention, and i will here that i noticed this e3 watching the conferences- micro seems to have put a lot of focus on kinect and casuals, and to me nintendo seemed to wanna drill home the fact that they want and will support third parties better which will lead to a lot of "core" experiences on the wii U. seems backwards huh? edit- yea even though i knew day one i wasn't going to buy a wii, because it wasn't for me, i have always had a lot of respect for nintendo. they are risk takers, and i admire that.
Ya it does. But It works out for me because I've always loved Nintendo and Sony. Those two companies are basically my childhood. I will get both.
Pretty impressive if its running 1080p60.
Meh, this can't bring tears to my eyes like the FFVII tech demo did. Still, good to see Nintendo is keeping up with its competitors.
LOL I own an xbox and I swear to god these graphics blow it away.. I'm getting one of those the second it comes out
it looks good but lacks in fine detail. but it is early doors yet. but as far as tech demos go when new consoles launch this hasnt wowed me as much. i did like the zelda demo (but who doesnt like zelda lol).
The only thing that doesn't look impressive is the water, it hardly reacts to the fishes moving about and the water droplets looked like jelly rather than water.
Yeah I see what you mean. Wave Race has better water spray than that. It did look like Jell-O. :) I'll give them a pass on that though being that this is a tech demo.
also the birds wings looked too polygony (if theres such a word lol)
This tech demo doesnt impress that much. It's nothing the 360 or PS3 couldnt handle.
