NowGamer: Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime has told Spike TV that the Wii U's console unit is "just a box."
you guys do know that he didn't mean that literally?
I wouldn't mind if he were refering to this box:
It's funny because the psychos on this site will actually take that literally and immediately start posting biased dribble
it is though
looks like an external HDD or a media player tbh..
Lol. Always picking things that could seem flame-worthy when taken out of context. Silly journalists.
"Agreed" sadly that's how they get paid, for some at least.
tisnt out of context actually..
What do you mean? Of course it is.
Fraid not :) he did actually say the Wii console is just a box.. which is true cuz the whole presentation was about the controller not the actual console..
"!" "What was that noise?" ... .."hm...just a box".
hopefully a box capable of rendering all games in native 1080p with at least 4x AA or I won't be buying it
Cut the crap, I had been here all day long and all you did was badmouth consoles and praise PC. What happened to that 50" HTPC setting you were rubbing on everyone's face in the other topic? We get it, you don't like consoles... You spent a significant ammount of time criticizing developers for their "sub-HD" games (would love to see you do better) and what not crap you have to say... So Ninty comes up with a 1080p 4xAA capable system, in two weeks you'll be whinning about how your PC can do 8xAA. Still, this a console thread, no one gives a damn about your hopes. Now quick, waste your last bubble and prove me wrong.
seriously go back to playing farmville , and leaves consoles be already
whats with u and 1080p gaming ? 720 looks gorgeous on my sony bravia 46" LED 1080p internet tv heck im playing crysis 2 and it looks gorgeous and that isn't even 720 right ? i know your eager to see those new batches of consoles and so am i but be patient the current gen still has allot of life and still full of great beutiful games to cater to us gamers . plus dont you own a pc for all that 1080p 60fps 8x AA stuff ? i know all that stuff can make gaming better but what im trying to say is its just fine as it is just look at uncharted 2 and 3, last guadian , infamous 2 , battlefield 3. just to name a few . those games look fantastic so if your not satisfied with stuff like that then your bar must be on a whole nother level
I prefer to think of it as a square, but to each his own.
So it's two dimensional... I like your thinking.
So this Wii U controller is capable of streaming very high graphical quality games? ie: Ninja Gaiden?
"So this Wii U controller is capable of streaming very high graphical quality games? ie: Ninja Gaiden? " I would say very likely, If the people I talked too are correct an Nintendo went with Arm cortex chipset in the WiiU tablet touch controller are correct, than I see no reason it could not do it an do it quite well. example: interview with Miyamoto "For instance, with the Wii Balance Board (which the Wii U can connect to), “instead of turning on the TV, just this is enough to display graphs and such while your checking your weight, so it’s handy in a way that you are able to play Wii Fit with just this and the Wii Balance Board.”" http://latestfashion.shadin... So the Idea of A central Hub the WiiU console streams an conntects to the WiiU tablet controller. Now the point above is it's taking stream data not just from the HUB, but also the balance board in real time. That also tells you that the chipset in the WiiU tablet or MID would have to be able to handle incoming data from the other board an data from the HUB. the fact that since the Nintendo DS an every model of the DS uses Arm core design chipsets , there is a very good chance so will this controller, there is a likely hood of a Cortex A8 or it could very well be the A9 but Im thinking there is a very good chance it's A8 due to cost reductions. though IF that is a big if Nintendo can get the A9's cheap enough there would be a very good chance they would put them in there, but Highly unlikely due to the fact that A9's are still pretty expensive an their not going to be really cheap until later in the year 2012. Any way you look at it that controller will have some very good specs for capability for being able to handle the stream content coming from the hub an other devices. this Opinion is based on what Nintendo has released with Touch scree devices they have released. Arm core is most likely the chipset, so it's pretty much a standard chipset for Nintendo being used due to so many touch devices they have been releasing all using the same core chip design.
Wow...There's a reply I wasn't expecting...thanks! I see your point and It really wouldn't settle well with hardcore gamers if it couldn't handle higher graphics. Nintendo themselves said they wanted to create a system that attracts the more hardcore fans as well. So this controller has a price point? how long is battery life? and do you have to turn the wii u on before you can stream games to the controller? I guess yes for that last question but please answer it anyways. Thanks!
If it's a box, they should have names it Wii² (Wii Squared) People are going to call it Wii2 anyway, might as well go scientific with it. and yes I know, technically, a box is cubed not squared.
i just dont get it . the controller is hideous and i hate how they are just focusing on that . whuld like to know some haredware specs atleast huh ?
The hardware isn't spectacular it's a Wii HD. on par w/PS3. shipping in 2012.
yea i guess nothing new to us but probably great to all wii fans huh
it's quite worrying when they have a new console and they cant even be bothered to show the actual unit makes me wonder what their hiding.
It just gets more confusing
