Is it me or was his "bad" arm glowing red as he slashes hes enimies down?! Really curious to learn what in the hell is going on...
I see Itagaki hating and dissing on this third installment of Ninja Gaiden. One of the things I see, which would never have happened (gone into the game) if Itagaki was still at Tecmo is the Quick-Time Events gameplay feature.
i am disappointed this reminds me more of ninja blade than ninja gaiden....
Look like some fighting mechanics are still there, not sure how much has change from this video. Although the stupid moaning and "i don't wanna die" sound retarded (they are soldiers and ninja, not some weak sauce civilians). I just don't want to hear that over and over when i kill them (make it feel like i'm killing some small fries, not some vicious adversary that i need to take down befor they kill me -> make me feel less of a bad ass ninja and make my opponent deem unworthy of my blade). Plus, it is kinda annoying.
Keep the intensity and difficulty from the previous games aswell as the weapon and combo variety. Remove the QTE mechanics and keep the slow motion moments to a bare minimum. Dismemberment should be kept aswell, mixing it in with the new hard slash feel (which is the whole concept that they call "steel and bone", the feeling of hardness and resistance while slashing through the enemies). Obliteration techniques should be kept aswell, having an enemy crawl after having his guts slashed is not only irealistic but lame and heartless. The developers sad they want us to feel the humanity of the whole thing, killing mercifully with the obliteration technique was described on Ninja Gaiden 2 as a way of finishing the enemies suffering while killing them as fast as possible. The screams of terror and pain also feel like a good addition ambience wise, although If overdone or in the wrong moments it can simply make the enemies feel like weakling cowards. The new environmental feel to it, the addition of stealth and some platform/exploration is a wonderful choice but making the game follow the cinematic bullshit trend of God of Overrated makes me really sad. This is Ninja Gaiden, it doesn't need to kiss any game's ass, it has a very unique pedigree of it's own. PS: I really wish my message could reach the developers...
