Red Faction: Armageddon, developed by Volition and Syfy Games and published by THQ is the 4th instalment in the Red Faction series, the game takes place 50 years after the events of Red Faction: Guerrilla and you play the role of character Darius Mason, the grandson of Alex and Samanya Mason; Alex being the main protagonist in Red Faction: Guerrilla.
The story thrusts you straight into the action as Darius, a member of the Red Faction, is sent to protect the Terraformer, currently being targeted by Adam Hale, leader of the White Faction and the Cultists, the machine is used to create an Earth-like atmosphere across Mars, without the machine the land would become a barren and inhabitable land.
