EA just owned Activision with zero dollar Battlelog service

Product-Reviews writes: With Actvision announcing their premium Elite service for the upcoming Modern Warfare 3 and other supported COD games, you just knew that EA were going to launch a counter attack with their own move, and they look to have found the answer with their Battlelog service.

Elite costs money, Battlelog does not... I think I know which one I'm going to choose here.

somerandomdude2718d ago (Edited 2718d ago )

”Battlelog will be available for the monthly fee of (drum roll)… zero dollars. ” EA

X-DominusRebellis-X2718d ago

Haha nice one! Looks like EA just killed an enemy: Activision (+50) by a headshot (+10)...and have won the match...lol

darksied2718d ago

Yeah, people can say what they want about EA, but the current management for Electronic Arts seems to be doing a lot of things right. +1 for them.

I like how this is one of those stories where there is no usual fanboyism and everyone is universally agreeing to abhor shameless money whoring.

Nice move from EA.

Im a fan of the Modern Warfare series but Im hoping EA to succeed with Battlefield! I really hope the game is good and captures gamers from the CoD fanbase. I love MW but actually wanting us to pay for something that is available in other games offer for free is just ridiculous.

not only which service to choose....but the better game as well

thats_just_prime2718d ago

maybe but CoD will still sale more copies and make more money off elite. personally dont like either game but activision is goin to be laughing all the way to the bank

Bull5hifT2718d ago

Well since your brainwashed enough to keep buying COD games.. Id bet your going to get the Paid Service

fr0sty2718d ago

@ tr00p3r... 31 agrees, 0 disagrees. I think we've found the one thing the entire gaming community can agree on... Hating activision.

tr00p3r2718d ago

Hate is a strong word my good man, but their actions speak louder than words clearly.

Activision love making a few extra dollars, while EA are more interested in building consumer support, rather than driving them away.. a really smart and logical business step.

Btw, someone disliked! :p

Don't care about either. Make me a good game.

EA isn't always the good guy here.. they made us pay $10 for maps that were locked on the disk(they took no download to play the maps) :/ and we only got most of them like a few months ago

unknownhero11232718d ago (Edited 2718d ago )

true but in this case EA is the lesser of the two evils.

squallheart2718d ago

But 5dlls less than the maps for COD XD

Jack-Pyro2718d ago

There's a difference between overcharging for maps that were developed after the fact and making you pay extra for something that's already on the disk...

I realize that project $10 is an attempt to take a stab into the used game market, but seriously EA can go fuck themselves if they think this is gonna fly for much longer.

That being said, EA IS the lesser of two evils for the sole expressed purpose that they consistently turn out quality work, unlike Activision who seem to know how to make and market COD and ONLY COD!

Rocket Sauce2718d ago

Yeah, I wouldn't buy either one, but I'd feel like a bigger douche paying $10 for something I already own.

Bungie has had incredibly detailed stats for Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST (Firefight) and Halo: Reach on bungie.net. Their stat tracking is amazing to say the least. I can still go look up to see how I did in my very first Halo 3 MP match.

That said, I like the dig EA is taking at Activision. I may buy MW3, but it won't be full retail price and I damn sure won't pay for Elite. I'm definitely interested in Battlefield 3 as well. Them announcing this makes it that much more interesting.

RockmanII72718d ago (Edited 2718d ago )

lol, I hate how you can do that though with Halo 3. My first game of Halo 3 I lost to someone with a gamertag of NoBalls51 :(
