'Star Wars' at E3: Your first look at 'Kinect Star Wars' (Entertainment Weekly)

Entertainment Weekly: Star Wars fans, prepare to connect with The Force in a kinectic way. On Monday, Microsoft Studios and LucasArts will formally announce the first Star Wars video game for Kinect, Microsoft’s hands-free, your-body-is-the-controller playing experience for the Xbox 360. Simply called Kinect Star Wars, the game is intended for all ages and will hit stores this winter. Microsoft will preview the game this at E3 (aka the Electronic Entertainment Expo), the video game industry’s annual confab at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Check out the trailer for a peek at the game and the gameplay

Let's all just pretend this trash does not exist.

Max_Dissatisfaction4708d ago

If only the same could be said about you...wait, it can

fr0sty4708d ago

If you had any room to talk, you wouldn't have resorted to personal attacks rather than engaging in a debate about why you disagree. To call someone trash just because they don't like a video game is pretty low. Good thing you only have one bubble, so we won't be hearing any more of that from you in this discussion.

Grow up kid. Quit getting so involved in fanboy bias that you hate on people for expressing their opinion on a video game. Many of us did not like that trailer at all, and we're no more trash than those who did like it. It's just a damn video game.

I think this looks great. I remember as a kid I would imagine I was skywalker and used a lightsaber in my hand even though I didn't have one. As a kid I had such an imagination. Running around and pretending I had the little grapple hook swinging across from one platform to the other with Leia in my arms rescuing her. Now, I can relive the days of my youth doing the exact same thing except I will no longer be imagining it...I will actually see it.

Thank you MS, George Lucas and Kinect. Growing up, sometimes we forget about what it was like being young and the imagination we once had. Not caring what other people thought, we were in our own little world and we liked it. When this comes out, it looks like I will be able to revisit that world that I had once forgotten many years ago.

I couldn't agree with you more man. I see all these know PS3 zealots in here trashing anything Kinect, but I think I will really like this, and if nothing else I will like watching my son enjoy it.

Unfortunately the 9 year olds of today could care less about Starwars. They`re too busy trying to pretend they`re adults.

ElementX4708d ago

The correct phrase is "couldn't care less".

D2K4708d ago

I'm with you on that one. Too old for this stuff. This game is 20 years too late. It might be fun for the kiddies, but I won't be playing it.

Inside_out4708d ago (Edited 4708d ago )

.
I couldn't agree more. This is some really great technology we are seeing here. Kinect and casual gaming go hand in hand...lol

I'm looking forward to the games that were announced at the TGS last year. They look really interesting and geared towards a more mature audience.

What's funny about Kinect and the haters is first they claimed it didn't work...how dumb are these guys. Then they said nobody would buy it...LOL...and we know how that turned out, 10++ million and a world record for fastest selling electronic gadget. Now they are saying M$ doesn't have anything to show at E3...you know what this means, M$ is going to have a great E3.

I think it looks like it may have potential.

gaden_malak4708d ago

ehh waving your hands on a rail game? I guess it could be fun.

D2K4708d ago

Yeah, I didn't see any of the intuitive 1-to-1 we were promised LAST YEAR at E3 in this demo. There was clearly waggle in there. Pass.

gaden_malak4708d ago

Wasn't last year the pre-planned demo?

theIMP4707d ago

I think it looks more fun than trolling N4G articles hating on a devise you don't own.

Munky4708d ago

I'm starting to realize that MS will be focusing on Kinect in a major way at E3. Which makes sense since they have invested so much time and effort into it, but I pray that they have some "hardcore" reveals.

Nac4708d ago

Since Star Wars is all about the Clone Wars this generation, this makes a lot of sense.

Kinect Star Wars (2012): A Journey Through the Galaxy with Motion Controls

Kinect Star Wars, a groundbreaking game released in April 2012 for the Xbox 360, utilized the Kinect motion-sensing peripheral to plunge players into the heart of the Star Wars universe.

One of the worst things to happen to Star Wars was it being exclusive to Kinect when PS Move could have been a better version because of "buttons" per Kevin with better tracking. And the controller looking like a light saber hilt. Or, had an actual light saber game similar to the dojo in Vader Immortal.

But the miming lies on the Microsoft E3 stage was icing on the cake of this garage. Wasn't even live gameplay. Just bad acting. Nothing ground breaking about this travesty.

Star Wars is Best Suited for AA Gaming, Not AAA

WTMG's Leo Faria: "This piece wasn’t meant to say that Star Wars‘ gaming future is ruined forever, nor that there isn’t a chance for a good AAA Star Wars game to come out in the near future. I need to reiterate that, yes, I’m looking forward to Jedi Fallen Order. Then again, as a massive Star Wars fan, like most of you I miss the days when we would get loads of titles a year, each one focused on one specific feature of the franchise. I’d rather have a slew of smaller Star Wars games being released every year, some good and some not as good, than one big generic title being released every two years. These are always at the risk of being criticized due to typical AAA practices like expensive season passes, cut content, or microtransactions. Had Disney allowed for anyone, especially mid-range developers and publishers, to bring their creative and risk-free ideas to life, I’m sure fans would have rejoiced. And Disney’s pockets would most certainly fill up faster than nowadays."

The Wiseau Awards - Kinect Star Wars (Xbox 360)

WTMG's Leo Faria: "Kinect Star Wars gave me the opportunity to witness Darth Vader and the Emperor dancing to Deadmau5's "Ghosts n' Stuff" like a couple of teenage ravers on ecstasy. That's the best thing I never thought I'd ever see in my life."
