Current Japanese Best Sellers

Nintendo DS titles may make up over half of the latest Japanese software top thirty, but it's a PS2 game that tops the pile.

PlayStation 2 title Seaman 2 shifted 33,000 copies in its debut week to net the No1 position, outselling fellow new entry Bungaku Zenshuu for DS by just 1,000 units.

While DS titles take 16 of the top thirty places, four games chart for Wii, PS2 and PSP. Sony's Lair for PS3 is at No21, while Beautiful Katamari for Xbox 360 debuts at No7.

Cool Seaman for DC was a pretty cool game. Plus it had Leonard Nimoy as the voice over! Can't go wrong with that

DS making a killing yet again. I heard that the Flash Focus game was garbage but has anyone played it personally to comment otherwise?

Kudos to the PS2 as well. The continued success of the PS2 hints that there are still a lot of ppl out there who have yet to buy a 7th-generation console.

They illustrate cultural differences in definitive manner. Interesting stuff!

I wonder how long it will take for western style games to gain widescale acceptence by Japanese gamers?

Will it ever really happen?
