Sega have announced the official game for the London Olympic Event. The game is due on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
With London 2012 now completely finished, Dave Sadd takes a brief look at the parallels between gaming and The Games for Pixels or Death and asks...why not Olympic gaming?
4 years ago since Beijin 2008, SEGA released this year’s London 2012 Olympics video game, hoping to capture the intensity of each event and atmosphere of the Olympics. The London 2012 Olympics is an historic moment for Great Britain, so will the Olympics video game do the same for the gaming industry?
An Olympics game that isn't mediocre!
Ah, the Olympics. The finest international sporting event that comes around every year and fills two weeks of our summer with excitement and anticipation as we cheer our nation on. Unfortunately an Olympics game also comes around every four years to try and share the triumph leading to utter disappointment and a game that can be described as mediocre at best.
Watching the Olympics really makes me want to play this... but I'm not spending $50 to do it. I'll wait for it to hit the < $20 pile.
Shenmue HD release for PSN and XBLA? Nope.
Shenmue 3? Nope.
*SIGH*
Decathlete was awesome. I actually have some faith in this, despite how much olympic games usually suck.
I thought the Mario and Sonic series was their "Olympic Series" had no idea they would do yet another one. Then Again, I do remember them doing something similar like this in 2008 with Beijing.

Another Sega licensed Olympic game that NO ONE will buy.
