PushSquare: "L.A. Noire is not flawless, but its ambition is largely unrivalled. The game manages to overcome some pacing and control inconsistencies, ultimately offering an experience that is both innovative and utterly captivating."
"L.A. Noire is not flawless, but its ambition is largely unrivalled." "L.A. Noire is not flawless" implies there is something wrong with it yet it gets a PERFECT score. Gaming journalism FTW!! guess its too much to ask for a honest reasonable score these days.
well it would be unjust to give it 3 out of 4, wouldnt it? I dont like the argument that a game has to be perfect to get full marks particularly with a scoring system out of 4,5 and 10 If a game does sooo much and the flaws are of little consequence to the ambition of the game then I think a perfect score is justified unless the scoring in 0.5/10 or 1/100 game like Shenmue and Deus Ex are both flawed games but both would get a perfect score from me if it 1/10 or 1/5 scoring
i never said it should get a 3/4. but i suppose taking off 0.1/0.2/0.3 is too much to ask for. guess when it comes to exclusives they easy to nit pick to deduct them points. i dont like the fact that perfect scores that get thrown around so often these days. takes away form the novelty of aquiring such a good score. By todays scoring standards, the original Deus-Ex will have gotten 15/10.
@KingPin you forgot about Shenmue, that would also get 15/10
