At first glance, it's easy to think of Devil May Cry 4 as a soulless cash-in. Between its uninspired level design, confounding camera, and new protagonist who looks almost identical to series' hero Dante, it would seem as if Capcom had drawn too often from the same well.
Two Devil May Cry games have been delisted on Steam. As shared on X, formerly Twitter, by Wario64, Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition and Devil May Cry 4 are no longer available to purchase.
Bless the adorably all digital future! When it comes to PC games its not as big of an issue because there should always be another way to access single player games, but still, I hate to see anything get delisted.
Well, DMC4 special edition has a lot of issues to run from Steam.
I have to get a modded executable to even be able to run the game on Windows 10.
Not sure if it is because the game runs in DirectX10 or what, but it sucks they have not even tried to fix it.
Devil May Cry 4 launched 15 years ago today, bringing with it new character Nero. Has it stood the test of time?
Never liked it and I think I got it day 1.
Cheap Capcom design of half a game that you have to walk through twice.
5 isn't much different in that department. Encounter the same boss three times with three different characters? Endless warehouses or alien-like tunnels that all look the same.
Grab your katana, and slice your way through this list featuring the best hack and slash games the PlayStation 3 had to offer.
Dante's inferno... an excellent GoW inspired game. So sad the sequels will never be.
heavenly sword was such a short, but amazing game. that game should be prime material to be made into a download only remaster.
I really enjoyed Castlevania, but struggled to get into it again reattempting it a few years back. I still think it does another of things well; story, presentation, level varietily and art style at least. Gameplay maybe has not stood test of time unfortunately which makes it a chore to get through.
I thought this game could have done better, it was too reptitive although the graphics were gorgeous.
the backtracking was terrible and it got real repetitive. it also didn't let you play as dante in the beginning. wtf was up with that? the older dmc games are better.
Although the gameplay was incredibly fun and the graphics were amazing for their time (and now to some extent) I felt the story was never as coherent as the earlier titles (like 1 and 3) and repeated maps and bosses more than any of its predecessors.
The second title I have never played and have no intention of doing so.
As for the new Dante re-invention...he's completely unrecognisable.
PS>
Fantastically worded article. Brought to mind many mutual feelings about the game which I had almost forgotten.
Pretty much the only thing I didn't like about DMC4 was having to fight the same bosses more than once, besides that I loved the game just wish it would of focused more on Dante.
The only thing I hated about it? Nero looked TOO much like Dante. And he sounded like Vash the Stampede...
