Games that are based on movie or television IPs always get a bad rap. They are known for horrible development, a sophomoric premise, and overall just banal existence. And sure, Man vs Wild may fit into that schema--it's Discovery Communications way to tap into a video game market that they have not reached before. So does Man vs Wild mark a solid venture for Discovery Communications?
AlienLion:
"Previously, we’ve looked at some really pointless celebrity involvements with video games. This time, we’ll do the opposite and put together a list of a few currently famous people, who deserve to have games made about them as soon as possible:"
Super Liam Neeson Galaxy!!!
"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have coins. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let Princess Peach go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will jump on your head."
GameDynamo - "Thanks to Crave Entertainment and game developer Scientifically Proven, the Discovery Channel’s hit television series Man vs. Wild is brought to us as a video game. Now we are in control, as we move Bear Grylls through this wild game experience."
"I've got 6 gallons of drinkable water to last me a week....
Better drink my own piss first..."
- Bear Grylls
GPT: "Just like movies, books and every other form of media; video-game developers run out of ideas all the time. The concept that games based on films are always awful is cliché at this point, but now a new trend is rising. Video-games based upon television series have tended to suck in the past. It's not to say a quality TV-game will never be made, but Man vs. Wild: The Game doesn't break this relatively new stereotype."
A game based on a TLC or Discovery show? What's next, one based on those families with 19 kids?
I want to know if there is a drink your own piss or squeeze water out of elephant dung trophy?
Aw Why am i the only person who thinks this game could've gone good? With different weather climates having differing affects on your body and you have to find(or build) things int he environment to restore what ever the weather is taking away.. For a PSN/XBL game, I would absolutely buy it. Sucks it sucked apparently..
But do you get to drink your own piss?
