Xbox Live technical support will be extra busy over the course of this week and the next as a new software update rolls out, bringing sweeping bans to those with modified consoles. But one fresh account banning from this week is more educational than the rest.

Actually, if MS forces you to change your gamertag you don't pay anything, it's free.

If I remember correctly, it costs 800 MS points, so it's not cheap. It's equal to $10.

If one wants to change his gamertag but doesn't want to spend the points/money, he can message all his friends and people in the recent play list to file a complaint about his gamertag and then MS will tell him to change it.

It's possible that MS received a lot of complaints about his tag, but it's also possible he just wanted to change it a lot on his own so he used said method to do so.

Also, the name made me chuckle, but it isn't clever in any way, just immature.

Good for Microsoft. The mojority of people who play online with tags like Pound her stank, xXiTzUMADBROXx etc are usually douche bags online. Most anyone with multiple "X"s, "Z" or other random crap in their names are try hards. Other types of assholes to watch out for- people with "iTz" in their name or "vVv" as a clan tag.

I saw one guy who's GT was "Yeasty Piss Flaps". I did laugh however.

i just find the whole banning Gamertags Pointless. Because the 10YO yelling racist, Homophobic,sexually explicit, ect. remarks, is really gonna be offended/Corrupted by the guy with a sexual Gamertag.Furthermore, I doubt "Pound Her Stank" was playing "barbie online" this sounds like a COD player. When playing the Gears 3 beta, I ran into BLKxPPLxStink or something like that and I was very offend. Hate and stereotypes in a gamer tag should be banned. It gives people the wrong idea and promotes racism. Gamer tags are suppose to show creativity not ignorance.

I think that they promote racism in a subliminal sense. By having an racist gamer tags like that, it tells the world "this is what I believe in". The internet and other forms of social media have given cowards the heart to state how they truly feel about people without any serious repercussion.

I rarely talk on Xbox Live anymore because I'm sick of the racist shit that people love to spew. In real life, a person could die over something as trivial as this but in the virtual world it's funny to laugh at. Whatever.

I think what's stupid about it is they even let him have the name in the first place. If they don't want people having a name like this then they shouldn't have let him have it to begin with. Microsoft needs to stop being lazy and make a better name filtering system instead of banning stupid kids who refuse to change their name to something that's tasteful enough for MS.

I played against ChuckNorris and Osama (not full nicks) in the same team. It didn't help them to be owned, though. Another time I met Jedi (+something) and he was a terrible noob. After 15 kills and a message "Force strong enough in you is not" he disconnected.
