Xperia Play Available for Purchase Off-Contract in the US, for A Steeper Price

I still have almost a year left on my contract so even if I wanted the phone, I'd have to wait. That's a hefty price for a cell phone considering I got my LG Ally for free.

The contract is why you got your LG for free. This is a typical price for a smart phone without a contract.

But If you were going to spend that much I'd spend a little more and get an unlocked phone so you're not tied to a particular carrier

I prefer a slide out keyboard like the LG Ally has.

Interested enough to post here. Emulators rock using the pad. Look out for E3.

But was hoping for more of a PlayStation Phone, and less of a Sony Ericsson phone with PlayStation features.

I actually like how they incorporated PSP stuff into it. To me, it needs to be a phone first, and a PSP second. All in how you look at it I guess.

To me, it'd be the reverse, ha. I value my gaming much more than communicating with petty humans... which is probably sad.

(warning if your N4G hardcore you wont like the following)

Had a play with one of these at the Gadget Show live, not impressed, ugly, big and nothing that would make me even consider moving from my iphone/BB.

silvacrest2761d ago

consider this, without the gamepad the play is essentially just a android phone, assuming you only have a iphone & BB, there is little reason why this device would appeal to you

adding the gamepad back in doesnt change that fact that your still using a different OS
