PowerUp Heroes Kinect Gameplay Footage

Here's the first proper glimpse of PowerUp Heroes gameplay. It is hard not to be intrigued by the concept here -- everyone wants to be a superhero, the presentation looks nice and fighting is one of gamings most beloved genres.

The key is getting smooth controls, and a fluid fight. Will Ubisoft succeed? Only time will tell; their motion offerings have been quite a mixed bag.

Interesting. This could be fun.Seems to need a little work to smooth out the game play and more balance in using defensive moves. But it is hard to judge from these vids.

I can't see the vid b/c I'm at work, but judging by the screen, people will end up punching/kicking each other playing this. Which is awesome. It's wiimote through the TV all over again.

yes,it does look fun
but what i really want to see is the players themselves and how the game reacts to their movements (and lag)
because according to the little square box at the top; their movements seem way off

I was looking at the same thing. What really is not known is the actual game play mechanic. I am assuming based off this vid that all your attacks and special powers are activated via gesture. I dont think this is your avatar 1:1 to the person...but rather kinda like street fighter you do a combo button press to pull off a move. I also am assuming that if you are getting hit with something it will disrupt your move thus why we see the losing guy trying to activate things when he is getting hit to no avail. Guy on the left seems much more in control and his movements seem to work and activate more often.

Anyway, as others have said this looks very interesting and could be a nice little gem for Kinect.
