PSN Password Site Hacked: Media Has a Field Day

JI writes: "It seems that the competitors of Sony's PlayStation brand were becoming more and more threatened by Sony's rising PS3 sales and massive software lineup for 2011 and now rather than competing with them on a level ground they will use this PSN event as a way to blind the world to the real comparisons gamers make between the big 3 gaming companies."

WOW.. Examiner says that many articles and other web sites had false and had wrong information after the Sony events for the past month, but the funny thing is that they are doing the same crap and giving wrong information also.
"PSN Password Site Hacked" - since when was the password site hacked???

tehpees32709d ago

this is exactly what that other article was talking about. why do these sites have it in for Sony like this? they make PSN as safe as it can be

GrieverSoul2709d ago (Edited 2709d ago )

I dont get it! The only thing that is being done is a link in a email that you click and go to the password change site.

Every service I use is the same way whenever an Authentication Link is required. So? Is the Internet unsecure?! Wow... shocker! /s

Istanbull2709d ago

WTF? Another one of these false crap?????? My god, these sites are really showing how biased and ignorant they are!

Dante1122709d ago

Wth, the ps sites weren't hacked lol. Sony just shutdown those sites because of an loop in the password reset that just required your email and DOB.

news4geeks2709d ago (Edited 2709d ago )

I guess people just find it fun to kick sony when they are down after the way they launched the ps3, I'm guilty of it myself at times. That and it's the least popular console in America so it's the easiest to get away with smack talk.

Competitors of Sony were becoming more and more threatened by Sony's rising PS3 sales and massive software line up? The sales that keep getting beat month after month after month after month here in the USA? The most important place in the World for video game sales. The stellar line up that has been producing such hits as the stunning SOCOM 4? The massive hit that is KZ 3? Or the game that is never ever talked about anymore, and is a thing of the past already LBP 2?

Well... I went off on a little rant there, but as tiring as it is to read about PSN being hacked all the time, it's just as tiring reading about Sony's competitors having anything to do with Sony being hacked. Anything at all.

ImHereNow2709d ago (Edited 2709d ago )

only in this brain dead morons head

what competitors are scared of $ony and psn?

certainly not MS and Nintendo. One is knocking on 100 mil consoles sold and the other sales are up 60% after 5 yrs on the market.

I think the only one that should be worried is the one in THIRD place whos online had to be taken down for 3 weeks and is STILL having security problems.

MS and USA don't equal the world. Get that ignorant American is greater than others out of your ass!

kikizoo2709d ago (Edited 2709d ago )

"Competitors of Sony were becoming more and more threatened by Sony's rising PS3 sales and massive software line up?"

it's just a fact, even if you are misinformed, you don't have to lie to sold more than the others last years (not the first time), and the line up is way better than competitors, only blinds fanboyz can deny that

and please, don't talk about sales when you believe it's good for "you" (but it's not, since kz and others best exclusives this years are selling well), and ignore them when it's not (gt5 and others...)

"Or the game that is never ever talked about anymore, and is a thing of the past already LBP 2? "

what a dumb xfan statement, pathetic ignorant u.s brainwashed the one ignoring the fact that propaganda is a part of viral marketing, and ms are better than japanese for these uggly marketing.

Direct from the sony blog:

"We temporarily took down the PSN and Qriocity password reset page. Contrary to some reports, there was no hack involved. In the process of resetting of passwords there was a URL exploit that we have subsequently fixed.

Consumers who haven’t reset their passwords for PSN are still encouraged to do so directly on their PS3. Otherwise, they can continue to do so via the website as soon as we bring that site back up."

examiner bro = tabloids just like all the nonsense magazines you find in supermarket magazine shelves.

Damn 4 Examiner executives have accounts at N4G! LOL

When you think good news I am sure Examiner would be pretty low on anyone's list.

Frulond2709d ago (Edited 2709d ago )

when Examiner articles starting coming to N4G I used to find them trustworthy but since a couple months ago I just don´t go to their site anymore... lots of bullcrap there... sad... guess they bend down for hits

Yeah, it should... sadly some prefer gossip instead XD

Der_Kommandant2709d ago

It looks like there's a lot of examiner executives around here...

NeoBasch2709d ago (Edited 2709d ago )

Actually, the last two articles I read from them were fairly well done, including this one. Way to jump to conclusions bro. They're one of the only sites without an anti-Sony or anti-Microsoft bias.

These guys probably wear tin foil hats and are obviously very paranoid.

nycredude2709d ago

I know you didn't just say that with a straight face..

I could write better than those clowns with my third leg and a number 2 pencil in need of sharpening.

wow god point, hacking sony's network is shameless, microsoft nintendo and sony need to be concerned about this.

Godmars2902709d ago

MS at least. Honestly don't thing Nintendo's online influence is worth the bother.

littlebigmarcpsps32709d ago

whats the point of this now?
come on guys leave SONY alone

tdrules2709d ago

wasn't even hacked.
A White Hat Hacker told Sony they were able to exploit the log in info so Sony shut it down.
