VGW: Alien After All has created another game for their successful DodoGo! series, titled DodoGo! Robo, which is now available at the DSiWare shop for 200 points. It tells the story, or in this case a lack of story, of a robotic dodo that teaches its ancestors how to survive, through the use of crash test dummy eggs in this puzzler.
Alien After All and Neko Entertainment today announced that the Nintendo DSiWare DodoGo! trilogy consisting of DodoGo!, DodoGo! Challenge and DodoGo! Robo is now available to a new audience through the Nintendo eShop, the digital store for Nintendo 3DS owners.
GamingUnion.net writes: "When one thinks of titles on Nintendo's DSiWare service, one will generally think of low-priced shovelware titles like the multitude of calculator apps or high-priced gems such as Dairojo! Samurai Defenders. Alien After All's latest DSiWare title, DodoGo! Robo, is a spin-off of their previous DodoGo! title, but it takes the special stages present in that title and makes a full downloadable game out of them. With Robo's much smaller 200 Nintendo Point price point (compared to the original's 800), is this just another cheap release or does the title have all the charm and ingenuity that so many people enjoyed from the original?"
DHGF: DodoGo! Robo is a fun and interesting take on the puzzle game genre popularized by games like Lemmings, and while it’s largely not going to convince people who aren’t fans of that sort of puzzle game of its value, as a two dollar download, it’s generally good enough to be recommendable to those who’ve never tried such games. It’s not a technical marvel, visually or aurally, and it’s not an exceptionally diverse product, all in all, but it does what it does very well, providing a challenging and fun puzzle experience that’s generally well designed.
