LA Noire DLC 'Nicholson Electroplating Arson Case' outed by Best Buy

LA Noire's first downloadable content pack has been announced unceremoniously in Best Buy's latest ad circular. As seen above, the ad promises that the first 16 customers to purchase the game at any Best Buy midnight launch event will receive a code that will unlock "the first DLC pack," known as the 'Nicholson Electroplating' Arson Case, as soon as it becomes available for download.

I'm not sure how happy I am with all this DLC already being announced prior to launch. Gamestop already took my money from Amazon because I'll take a new mission over a suit that doesn't add much to the game, but I'm already ticked I can't get Walmart's case at launch. And now Best Buy has a case of it's own?

This is gettin' just a tad ridiculous.

fluffydelusions4726d ago

Yeah I went with gamestop too because of the extra mission.

Yi-Long4726d ago

... why I won't be buying the game at launch, but instead will wait for them to release a complete edition somewhere along the line.

ginsunuva4726d ago

Yeah, don't give in to it. By pre-prdering it at gamestop, other stores will try harder to get exclusive stuff.

Best Buy doesn't have their own exclusive case. This is a case that will be released to everyone at some point as DLC. You get a code to download it for free though if you are one of the first 16 customers to buy L.A. Noire at the midnight launch.

I've heard some developers talking about how during the process of making their game, they take some people from their team and have them working on dlc. I would LIKE if they have content to put it in the game and not make even more money off of me. Though I don't mean that rudely. I guess it just depends. idk how I feel about this.

I hate this. Why cant developers just sell the full game.

so about this game is having real-life unsolved murders in it. but the thing is these murders were UNSOLVED how is it going to work?

SeraphimBlade4726d ago

I think the cases are only "inspired by" the real-life cases. That basically gives them a free pass to do whatever they want with it. Guess we'll see how that works tomorrow! =D

Remembering Medal Of Honor: The Forgotten Master Of WW2 Games

Ibrahim from eXputer: "The Medal of Honor franchise was once the crown jewel of FPS war games, later defeated by the tides of time and poor development."

They tried to turn it into Call of Duty and it killed it off. They should reboot it and go back to it's roots. But they'd ruin it with online-only/multiplayer style bullshit so why bother? I have very fond memories of these games, but this series can stay dead as far as I'm concerned.

Was literally just thinking of this game the other week with the secret nut cracker mission and the shooting Bismarck dog lmao. Loved these games as a kid

I wish they’d remake warfighter

Strictly for the campaign

I have fond memories of playing the Medal of Honor Breakthrough MP Demo. It had two maps and custom servers. Living on campus, I had it downloaded on one of the PC Lab servers so I could access it on any computer at the university. Joined a clan and made friends that I still keep in touch with today.
