Attack of the Fanboy: LA Noire A Huge Gamble For Rockstar

Attack of the Fanboy writes:"I can’t remember the last time I was as excited for a gaming experience as I am with LA Noire. The promise that LA Noire holds is impressive. With Team Bondi moving away from the traditional formula other games in the Rockstar family made famous, the gamble for both the publisher and developer is a big one. Between the sky-high development costs and the extensive marketing ambush that the game has had for months, Rockstar has bet big with the upcoming title."

How is this a gamble for R*? There just publishing it.
It's paid for, anxiously waiting for Tuesday

if it sells 4 million i dont even think it will be profitable with the costs..............

analysts dont have this outselling red dead

Profit for Rockstar and 2K perhaps because they didn't pay for it all.
Sony helped fund it for quite some time in the beginning

showtimefolks3017d ago

will sony get money for sales too since they funded this for about 20million if reports are to be believed.

or maybe RS gave agent as exclusive in return who knows but it is something i would love to find out just for the heck of it

i believe this game will do RDR numbers because after gta 4 many fans were against RS but with RDR RS proved they not only still got it but they can make other great games besides gta

from one of the review from gameinformer Australia they said that gun play feels week i hope that's not the case because RS games never have gun play issues lol

even though i understand this is not a gunplay type of game

I think the reason the ps3 is getting Agent as an exclusive is because of the sony funding to L.A Noire.

Pretty good investment if you ask me...

This is a gamble I'm willing to take.
@ brian wow that doesn't sound like a gamble more like a win win to me. You sir have it made.

I just brought a bunch of games back to gamestop and didn't pay anything. I'm not a huge fan of that but I'm broke so you gotta do what you gotta do.

Def, I took a safe gamble though, sort of.

Bought it using a 15 dollar promo credit from Amazon, release day shipping, and covered the rest with a $50 Visa gift card I got from winning at case competition for SAP at Villanova.

Plus I got a buddy who is willing to pay $40 cash if I don't like it. But I have a feeling I'm going to like this one.

@Cyborg I hear ya. Just graduating from college, ceremony is actually tomorrow morning. I need all the money I can get haha. But I did the same to get my move bundle, $30 credit from Amazon plus $70 in Amazon Gift Cards from a Survey Site. Free move bundle, well, cost me time.
