In my 20 years of gaming, this fight will always be my most memorable.

Two icons, two brothers, fighting it out with subtle flashbacks to the 15+ years i spent playing those games, so epic.

I'd say the fight with PsychoMantis in MGS...
... the whole running around naked with colonel going nuts in MGS2
... and the ending of MGS3

... and when ocelot shoots everyone with his finger in MGS4.

However, 'I feel asleep' probably takes the cake.

bad article i only agree with the cod 4 one....

Can I ask why? I mean, to me it was not spectacular, definitely not one of the most memorable scenes ever. Perhaps of the last 5 years, but it really wasn't all that amazing, but it was good. Anyone that has been gaming for a very long time has seen much more amazing stuff though.

Really? Out of all those, you found the COD nuke special?
Are you even a real gamer, a casual or simply new?

You have to look beyond flashy explosions and look for substance.

To me the most memorable moment in any game ever is pulling out the Master Sword from the pedestal of time for the first time in Ocarina of Time and turning Link into his adult form, my mind was blown back in the day.

Hell yea, same with me. This list is weird though, its apparently the whole sites opinions, and its mostly newer games?? CoD4 nuke scene is not that amazing, it was just cool. The Portal 2 scene was interesting, but hardly a most memorable one. This is all opinion obviously, but this list was way too short, and bad overall.

EDIT: Oops, this was meant to be a reply to ThatCanadianGuy.

Yea, it seems to be devoid of older games.

DeusEx and Systemshock2 had surprising twists.
Jak3's reveal of the precursor is also memorable.

There were so many memorable moments in MSG4, (and in the whole MGS franchise) but for me the microwave corridoor sequence takes the cake. I can't remember another time where I've felt so much immotion, frantically pressing the buttom trying to get snake across while he's on all 4 using every last bit of his strength. Just magnificent.

Kleptic4732d ago

yeah MGS4's campaign had hands down the most ridiculously well done sequences in gaming...period...

I fully understand that the game was about 80% fan service, and 20% directed at 'newer' gamers...but since I fit the former, it was just about as flawless of a single player game I have ever come across...

the only bad thing about MGS4 for me is that you only get to play it for the first time...one time...guess that applies to any game, but it definitely means something for mgs4...
