1UP - Team Bondi founder Brendan McNamara discusses L.A. Noire's development time, the relationship between Rockstar and Team Bondi, and how Chinese food played a role in switching publishers.
I really can't read wall of text anymore. Too much effort!

I can't. I love N4G too much.
that would make to much sense
Seven years in the making. Seven days to release. CAN'T WAIT!
Good interview. The time, care and attention invested in this project by Team Bondi and R* should be emulated by several other devs/pubs throughout the industry.
If it's good I may have to trade some games in to get.
better be good.
Rock star always takes a while to produce their games, which is why they're always awsome.
i gonna get this day 1 better be true 720p on ps3 this time
Duke Nukem Forever took a little bit more :P
I've been waiting since i first saw that trailer in 03' never knew it WAS THAT MUCH. But now it's finally here i can now play L.A. NOIRE and add another great ROCK STAR GAME to my collection.
It's nice to read about Team Bondi's history with Sony and how the game's transition to multiplatform was handled. It doesn't seem like anything was comprimised. What an amazing partnership Rockstar and Team Bondi have created. 7 years though? Damn! I'm buying this game without hesitation!
Yes nothing was comprimised going from a 56GB Blu-Ray to a Newly Made 10GB(was6.8GB before) xbox disk...... Imagine how much Fun Stuff they had to Cut So You Babies Wont Wine about how supirior the PS3 version is... I cant wait to See AGENT' the True GTA4' prorably wayy bigger than San Andreas with all the Fun Added... So a late 60's Spy Movie type GTA... Maybe in Russia , bit Differnt
Rockstar is on a roll. Gets me hyped for this and Agent.
Oops: My apologies, thought you meant Agency. I have seen no details on Agent in almost 2 years. Have they even shown a video for it? I just remember an 09 E3 announcement.
no I think he meant the agent for the ps3.
good games take a long time to make 7 years to make? damn i think this game is going to be good i cant wait next friday cant come soon enough (UK release date)
Alan Wake took time to make and it sucked.
damn lol but its rockstar we are talking about for god sakes
killzone 2 took 5-6 years and it's one of the worst shooters of this generation. i actually thought alan wake was pretty good...certainly not something that should have taken as long as it did, but at least it was fun. not just some bland, colorless, cliche, pile of junk that provided more boredom than c-span.
Alan Wake had a lot more smaller team and resources to make, they also made game engine for it too. Also it didn't suck, personally I think it was awesome. Anyways, just finished Heavy Rain, and for some reason, that raised my interest in this title, I have to get this one too..
that was a great interview and i cant wait to play the game is looking awesome thanks team bondi and rockstar.
A Pretty big and Expensive Game to Create
what confuses me is that the guy basically says they started with 1 line of code and went from there, but from the videos i saw, this game looks like it's running on Rockstar's engine. seems a li'l odd monday, midnight can't get here soon enough.
Well, it probably took 2 years to compress it to 3 DVDs. LOL. Day 1 for PS3.
"Are we going to do a two-layer Blu-ray and then what are we going to do, like seven Xbox 360 discs?" Said it himself.
Another 1UP article stated that Team Bondi cut content from the game (two desks!), probably for the reason you quoted. Blame 360 for cut content.
To be honest, the game had been in production for 7 years. That "cut content", as you say, would have taken time to create and 7 years is already just too long. So in this case the 360 version doesn't seem to have had an impact on the overall outcome. But it could definitely have been bigger. Although, Microsoft and Xbox 360 has been to blame for a lot of restrictions when it comes to games as of late: DVD9 limitations, XBLA 2GB limit preventing games from coming out, Kinect replacing core games etc. I'm glad I own the platform(s) that offer me more choice.
Hmmm.. Isn't there already more content in the PS3 disc? So I'm guessing all just didn't get finished in time, but I bet my balls on it that they will come out as DLC..
LoL... 6 or 7 DVDs? (could have been). Definitive AND groundbreaking! Read it.....
Please insert disk 2....
i hope it's worth it. i already pre-ordered my copy.
From reading that, essentially it would have been a better game if it was exclusive to ps3. Thanks xbox for your outdated storage medium.
It took 7 years because this game started out as a PS3 exclusive. With all the problems for Sony it's a good thing for this developer that they went Multi Console.
This is a Midnight Launch for me hopefully Gamestop has one if not i be there at the store before they open
If you guys haven't figured it out bluray is the reason for your time consuming mandatory installs and long load times. I think dvd9 can be incovient as well but I would rather change a disc then have the other options as I own a ps3 and I cringe everytime I buy a new game and have to install it and or wait on it to load my game. So I am sure the next gen systems including 360 will have a larger drive prolly bluray but with a much faster reader and that will eliminate all the problems as right now changing a disc is just a trade off as very few games require it compared to the amount of mandatory install games the ps3 has.
