PlayStation Network: Here's The Official Letter Sony Sent to Publishing Partners

PlayStation Network has been down for more than three weeks, and publishers and developers have stated that they're losing money. What's not clear is what Sony's doing to compensate its partners. Sony wasn't willing to comment on that to IndustryGamers, but IG managed to obtain through one of its industry sources, the exact letter that Rob Dyer, SVP of Publisher Relations, has sent out to publishing and development partners.

pointless article. pretty much saying what we already now. what a waste of time.

Pointless comment? The article was posted for people's interest. You didn't have to read it you know!

its cause its not positive news about sony.. so they all get disgruntled.

that letter was horrible! they should of just said "sorry we will turn it on when we are ready.."

undercovrr3021d ago

Its is a pointless article, there is nothing new. Stop acting so defensive

You people are crazy. That is an excellently written, informative and business like letter. I'm not sure what more you could ask for.
It seems like sony has been giving out information as they get it. Being as open as possible.
If they just told people about stuff when they only had suspicions then there would be a bunch of wild rumours being blown out of proportion.

It's not meant to tell us anything new about what happened, it's just showing us what info Devs/Publishers received from Sony, which I for one find that stuff interesting.

Exactly what I was thinking WhittO. People just can't help but troll!

EDIT: Spelling*

The network's been down three weeks. No more, no less. Making a mountain out of a molehill I see.

Max_Dissatisfaction3021d ago

3 weeks and a day, almost 2...if you wanna get technical.
What? I'm just sayin'

The only new thing in that is that they confirm that they are hiring a new CIO. In the past, they said they were hiring A CIO. I found it suspicious that they didn't already have one. So, it looks like someone did get canned in the end for this security issue.

Esena3022d ago

I thought they said they were creating a new position.

Christopher3022d ago (Edited 3022d ago )

They said that previously in their blog updates, but in this letter, they said: "appointment of a new Chief Information Security Officer"

That would indicate to me that there was an old one. Otherwise they would have just said "appointment of a Chief..."

Scrupuless3022d ago (Edited 3022d ago )

They mention free services.... just curious as to what the free playstation entertainment downloads will be?

coryok3022d ago

sounds like the dude just made this 'letter' himself from all of the other things that sony has been saying and said that sony sent it to publishers

sony had already said that they were planning on offering help to psn developers, through ps+ and advertising space on ps store
