Are Foreign Games Losing Their Stigma in Japan?

Kotaku: For decades, the term "youge" (洋ゲー) or "Western game" was pejorative. In Japanese, "you" (洋) is used to denote Western things, whether that be "Western music" (洋楽) or "Western clothes" (洋服). These words are not pejorative—not like youge has been.

here's a small incomplete list Bayonetta, Yakuza 4, Ar Tonelico Qoga, Resident 5,Dead Rising, Lost Planet,Disgaea, DMC, Street Fighter 4, Soul Caliber 4, Final Fantasy XIII, Tales of Vesperia, Demons Souls, and 3D Dot Game Hero.

And most of the games you list were either meant to appeal to Western playstyles, didn't sell as well as they could have in japan, or in the case of FFXIII, were disappointing.
