Mass Effect 3 NGP, Yes Please

Geek Revolt writes "Last week it was revealed that EA is going to release a handheld version of Mass Effect 3. Now, everyone assumed they’re talking about an Android/iOS version. That wouldn’t be surprising, but EA should skip smartphones and go straight to the NGP, here’s why."

Well dosent sound bad te more people get to play it the better ....

As long as the optimize it or what ever system is on and it's controls os something any one shude be all for it ..

DeeZee3026d ago

I think it wouldn't be hard to get it optimized on the NGP, maybe a "little" on the 3DS though.

jony_dols3026d ago

The Mass effect series runs on Unreal 3.

Epic have already stated that the 3DS isn't powerful enough to run UE3.

Epic recently showcased UE3 on the NGP, and it is running perfectly on the device.

Expect an NGP and/or Ipad Mass Effect reveal.

DeeZee3026d ago

@ jony_dols I didn't know that, but they could always use a different engine for the game if they wanted, although I doubt it.

Heres proof on behalf of jonydols comment so he doesnt get bubbled down.

Epics comments on 3DS : http://www.nintendo3dsinfo....

Mark Rein “No,” Rein said. “It’s below our [minimum specifications], from what we can tell. We don’t have a 3DS, so there’s no way for us to verify that,” he added, “but everything we’ve been led to believe is that it’s below our min-spec. You couldn’t do a game that looks like [Epic Citadel] on it, for example.”

It would probably be a bit wise to have a Mass Effect spin-off for the NGP namely b/c, Mass Effect 1 and 2 never was never on the PSP. Some of the PSP/NGP audience maybe left out story wise and that could be a turn off in terms of buying ME3, straight out.

Although, a good Mass Effect game that is made just right for the NGP would be awesome. Whether it is ME 1, 2, 3 or whatever spin off.

DeeZee3026d ago (Edited 3026d ago )

I agree, a spin-off would be the best idea. Although, if they wanted to they could do 3, and just give players a recap. Isn't that what they did for Mass Effect 2 on the PS3?

blumatt3026d ago (Edited 3026d ago )

It would be awesome if they gave you a digital copy of ME3 (for use with the NGP) with the PS3 version so you could take your game on the road with you after playing on the PS3 version. That would be sick!

With cloud game saves and 3G capability in the PSP2, it could happen.

Aloren3026d ago

I disagree. The best idea would be a new release of the trilogy. After all, by the time the NGP is out, ME will be 5yo. Maybe they could release a ME collection with ME1 and 2, and then ME3 a bit later.

I think the short style missions with an overriding story could lend it self to a portable format rather well.

limewax3026d ago

I hate to break it to you but the short style missions apparently will not be returning, each quest apparently is now set as a grand mission in itself, from recent reports anyway. I wont complain, it lends itself to the RPG genre

SuperStrokey11233026d ago

I wont read anythign abotu it till ive palyed through it. Dare not spoil it for myself.

limewax3025d ago

I'm slowly going the same route myself now, The info reveals are starting to give away too much now, Bioware always have a tendency to tell us everything in the game before its released.

Without ruining anything, All I will say is, its looking epic

Raendom3026d ago

How big is the NGP in terms of game memory? It may have to come on multiple carts.

MasterCornholio3026d ago

Take into account that it doesnt have to run the game at 720P due to the rez of the screen. And you can also factor out surround sound as well so yes i believe you could shove a game like Masseffect into a 4 gig cart for the NGP

NarooN3025d ago

1280x720 vs. the NGP's 960x544 isn't too far away from each other. For a mobile device, that's pretty much HD.

Even then though, it's gonna be tough to cram all of ME3 onto a 4GB flash cart. They're gonna have to do some sorcery to pull that off. ME2 on PS3 was 12GB if you downloaded it off the store. It was pretty much the same size on the PC version as well. ME3 will definitely be bigger than 2 was, so how they pull this off without cutting corners is gonna be some feat.

metsgaming3026d ago

How are they going to fit these game on only 4 gb ! They would have to spend alot of time to try and fit them. Did sony say that the space could be expanded to higher amounts in the future?
