iAX: "There are certain mediums of storytelling that have done pretty well in the United States, like anime and manga. Across the spectrum they are successful to a certain extent. Visual novels are on the opposing spectrum, never really gaining a foothold in the west. The best way to describe a visual novel is that it is sprite-based characters on a static background with lots of text and branching plot points based on decisions made. There are some games that are purely H-games with a focus on “winning” a certain character. Other visual novels focus on character interaction and exploring a deep involving storyline. In this medium, there have been some successes, like Capcom’s Ace Attorney franchise. While there are examples of some success, the numbers of franchises that are sales failures are numerous and all too common. As a fan of the medium, here is my strategy for visual novels."
Capcom Boosts Starting Salaries in Japan by Over 25%! Strategic move to attract top talent and align with industry trends amid economic inflation.
Well there is a lot of laid off talent out there. Very smart of them to target that. Plus if it’s in Japan, that’s a great place to live.
I really approve of Capcom for doing this and will show my appreciation by supporting them. There are a few Capcom games I need to get... and this includes Dragon's Dogma 2. Support companies that support the people working in the industry over shareholders! REMEMBER: Shareholder's don't make games!
25% sounds like a lot, but it's from $1,560 to $2000 per month. That's $24,000 a year. Unless u became a monk, that is below poverty line.
Mike Nelson writes: "We’re thrilled to announce the next Xbox Partner Preview will air Wednesday, March 6, at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT, featuring a mix of new and upcoming games."
The 3 games listed are multiplats.
I actually looked up the Tales of Kanzera:Zau a month or so ago because I thought it could be an actual Tales of game but I was very disappointed to find out it is an indie game being published by EA and not an actual Tales of game. Gameplay looks ok but I don’t like the art style. It looks a lot like the recent Prince of Persia game.
From complete reimaginations to perfect refinements Capcom have breathe new life into classic titles. so which others should they tackle?
I expected them to make a new Darkstalkers using the same engine as Street Fighter IV, then I expected them to make one using the same engine as Street Fighter V, then I gave up expecting anything.
Please please please, Dead Rising 3 remake! And follow it up with a great DR4! (I pretend that 4 never happened, so I'm still waiting for 4 to release)
I want Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 remake so bad. I loved them both on GameCube. Would also want a brand new Viewtiful Joe 3 as well. 😎
