Skill, Luck and Learning Curves: Part II

Welcome back.

As with last week’s article, the focus of today’s article is once again on skill, luck, and learning curves – this time with a specific eye to multiplayer games. Much of the ground covered last week will still be relevant here, including how to determine a game’s position on the skill-luck spectrum using differences between observed and expected transitivity, as well as how a developer can shape their players’ experiences by altering the structure and slope of the game’s learning curve.
