Four Reasons Why PSN’s Return Might Be Taking So Long

GameThirst - Are you not infuriated at Sony? Because I know I am. The PlayStation Network was hacked three weeks ago, and Sony’s yet to bring back the service online, and the entire industry’s feeling the blow. Developers are feeling it too, with Capcom now complaining of “millions” in lost revenue. But at the end of the day, no one feels the pain more than Sony. Its install base is pretty disgruntled, some are leaving to join Xbox Live, and the media is pumping bad press to millions of potentials consumers.

My guess is a whole revamp of the PSN,New XMB the Works.

After say a month I'd see if I could revamp the network with added features. I'd release a press conference. And state around what time frame were looking at having it back, and for that I'd revamp the thing. This is only if it was down for say a month.

Perhaps they are laying the groundwork that allows for future add-ons like chat to integrate better into the system.

Which ever reason it is, Sony can take as long as it wants. No point integrating a system that you spent 5 minutes on for it to go down 5 minutes later.
