'Halo' and creators move on after divorce - What's next for 'Halo'?

Working from a new home base in a converted movie theater, the developers of Bungie are toiling away on their next video game, one that will have nothing to do with the franchise that put them on the map.

Bungie's waning involvement in "Halo" and with Microsoft is little known outside the industry. Microsoft would like to keep it that way.

"343 Industries is doing a phenomenal job and continues to shepherd that franchise in a fantastic way that the gamers are going to be excited about," said Unangst, the Microsoft director. "The same people are running the franchise. That hasn't changed at all."

This sucks. Halo is suck a good series. At least they went out with a bang with reach.

Yeah, it's hard for me to imagine halo without bungie. It's highly likely that for me, after halo CE remake is made (assuming 343 doesn't f it up) I'll call it quits on halo. Bungie finished it's trilogy and I'm happy with that.

I think the series concluded with Reach, anything after is just a quick cash in.

There's a reason why 1,2,4 (excluding 6 though) were the best in the series. It's because the devs who created it worked on the those games.

This new Halo might be Halo but it won't surpass the real Halo.

The creator is still with Halo at 343i. Frank O'Connor never "divorced" from Halo.

Halo has its share of supers players, and to dismiss the skiill involved in becoming an elite player, seems to me, to be a little short sighted. There has always been , griefers, glitchers, cheaters, squeakers, spawn-campers, average, good, and dominant players, or some assortment thereof, in any online game I have ever played. That is why I have to disagree with you; not because I am some so-called fanboy. I am a Halo fan, but all of my zeal is for TF2.

I am cornholio and i delcare that the next game will be a remake of Combat Evolved The First Halo. They would have to be real bungholes not to do it. And if they dont do it i shall TP them

It'll be good to see what 343 Industries can do with the Halo franchise. I know they've just made a Reach map pack, but hopefully we'll see Halo 4 or Halo CE at E3.

10th year anniversary this year! Should be some good E3 announcements...

I actually believe 343 Industries will do fantastic things with the series in their hands now. They created the Defiant map pack and I think it shows how much they enjoy the series.

I think as great as Bungie is, Halo will branch out with 343 and get some new creative direction which in turn will lead to new gameplay. Halo 4 will be impressive.
