It seems like the developers of Hector want gamers to contemplate whether they should even continue playing in the first minutes of the game. Fans of the adventure genre will no doubt be surprised when they boot up Hector for the first time.
Ryan from OnlySP writes:
"The Humble Indie Bundle is in full swing, already selling over 245,000 copies at the time of writing, however the company has also got a new Humble Weekly Sale which, this week, includes a selection of Telltale Games titles, including all 5 episodes of OnlySP’s 2012 Game Of The Year, The Walking Dead."
From Review: "Hector is my kind of detective. He's lazy, not very sharp and spends a good chunk of time in little more than his tighty-whities. And yet, time and time again, Hector is the best man for the job. He's the very definition of a lovable loser; the type of classic game character we used to see a lot of in adventure games of the 1980s and 90s. He's a breath of fresh air at a time when Telltale Games needs it the most."
IGN: Hold onto your hats. It's about to get a little freaky in here.
Weird? Catherine is my favorite game this year.
of course I don't speak for everyone though.
This was somewhat what I was expecting from this game, but I didn't think it would be this bad.
