While that is an overkill. PC gaming is awesome. Since recently most game releases are crap, i have gone back to playing some of the classics.

Fired up Dosbox and started playing Conquest of the new world, its like a freaking time machine where you can load up any old game start playing relive the memories.

Complete waste of time and money IMO, $11k on that? That's just plain stupid! With that kind of money I would expect to look incredibly awesome!

I love building computers, but even if I had tons of money I wouldn't spend that much.

actually each game could run on it's own set of 3 screens in 3d 1600p max settings.

he could also convert 500gb of HD video, burn a blu-ray, do my taxes, launch the space shuttle, calculate pi, run prime 95, and download porn, all at the same time with NO problems.

I could build a better one for that much cash, shit I recently built a i5 2500K clocked at 4.5GHz with a GtX 570 system for $980.

I'm able to play almost every game at Maxed out settings at 1080p.

I'm yet to get a game that my computer can't keep up at 1080p! I can any games maxed out so far.

Liquid cooling is overrated these days. Air has caught up and can keep even the most expensive systems cool if they don't run a serious OC.

The only time liquid is good to have, is when you're gaming or folding for really long sessions, or... you just stopped gaming. Liquid can cool your system down faster at idle, than air can.

Funny that most of the money was spent on the SSD's, but yet even the most significant equipment was left out was the fans needed to cool down the PC Epic Fail.

Agreed. Why isn't the processor liquid cooled, or even the cards? And why no cooling for chipset or RAM? These things all heat up especially when overclocked. No need for those two big oscillating fans if computer was properly cooled.

oh didn't notice that! $2400-3200 for the Samsung 7 series. That's a large chunk, ok so the monitor and cards were about $5000

$11K and your cable management looks like shit. for $11K you could of had tiny invisible elves carry the electricity back n fourth and used no wires. sorry i had to be prick about something.

subtract two 580's and use that money saved to water cool the other two. Overclock the hell out of them plus your CPU cause 4 way SLi in most games is useless.

I know he has a bunch of SSD BUT buy two 500GB PCI-E SSD with built in RAID O,1 controller and your all set plus NOTHING is faster than PCI-E SSD.

$11K worth of PC with two $5 wal-mart fans blowing on it to keep it cool is not great. Cooler Master Haf X would be much nicer and it keeps things cool plus holds all 6 SSD you have.

$11K and your not running twin Xeon's? Ah come on. PLEASE take it all back and let me help you out. I can build you something just as good and you will be left with $3k for a nice trip to Las Vegas.

Newegg has a 120hz 3D 32" 1080p 2ms response time TV on sale for $450-$650. they do this like every other weekend. but a samsung 7 series is nice but not $2500 nice.

By the looks of it he doesn't have much knowledge with knowing computers moreso then have the mentality "let's get the best of the best and throw it together for fun". It is definitely overkill and as stated above, that case can not be enclosed without liquid cooling as those quad sli cards are on top of one another it will overheat fast. I plan on building a new rig to max out BF3 on PC but I am only spending just under 2k...but with that I can get SLi, 6-core intel, 8gig ddr3 ram, 1200w power supply, full case, and usb 3.0 compatible mobo. So my comp will run BF3 the same as his yet mine will be 9k less which will go towards bills and my car payment...haha.

My guess is he went with nothing but SSDs from the looks of it and if you get large capacity SSDs well look for yourself. They ain't cheap.

And that's just 500gig. Regular 1TB HDD costs $90...for comparison. So if he got just two of those well he is at $2800 already minus everything else. Again OVERKILL.

Nice build, now go fold. That's about the only thing you can do to actually tax that system. Hell games of today can run maxed on half of that CPU/RAM and half of one of your 4 gpus.

Oh yeah, keep a close eye on your electric bill.. :)
