The demo is now available only on the Japan Playstation Store.
736 MB. downloading now.
Yes, downloading now, only PES 2008 remains to make PS3's cell burn in next days(years).
when u download it tell me is it graphically superior to gt hd and hw mch margin ....i mean scale it from 1 to 10. 1 means nothing changed and 10 means it looks damn new game thanx ...ahhhh my keyboard sux
The game is awsome, of course much superior to GT HD, but you must use wheel (GT Force PRO) and one LCD at 1080i or 1080p to engoy this sweet, it's a dream. My girl is now playing and she don't want to leave it. I would give it, 1 to 10 (ten): Graphics = 20 Simulation = 20 Sound = 20 Gameplay = 20 (in scale 1 to 10), and I'm not joking, it's really the state of art. Important note: in the settings windows before we go to track (where we choose manual/auto transmission) the second box/option have by default "Standard Driving" and the other option (longer japanese word) is "Professional Driving", so here is where we can get the real meat. I was able to won one race in pro mode with 2"17 as best lap.
installing now :)
nothing new here the graphics are well clean no atmouspher in this game looks very sparce like were is the detail the weather effects after trying this i must say PGR4 is 10 miles better on 360.will the final game have online race modes player championships freinds lists/? thats whats really needed to have some fun.
...this is the demo of the prologue. Wait until the game is released next year before you pass judgment on the game.
arcadegoal you are simply pathetic. The best you can come up with is weather effects. Forza clowns yell damage while PGR clowns yell weather effects. If i started downplaying forza or PGR saying oh it dosent have 1080p or it dosent have 700 plus cars oh it dosent have as good graphics we wouldnt go nowhere. 1st off there is no driving/ racing game that touches GT on visuals. PGR is ok but its not even in the same league. You can even see it in the reviews it got mostly 8's. I've played PGR4 and while its quite impressive it dosent hold a candle to GT5. The no atmosphere you talk about was done intentionally to display the beauty of the car models in the game and make no mistake it is beautiful. The game has excellent visuals and excellent sound. GT5 is a driving sim not a racing sim a driving sim. Built to completely immerse you in its beauty and realism. I havnt tried the professional setting but i intend to soon. And please nobody compare this game to PGR4 anymore there are 2 completely differnt types of games. 1 is an arcade racer the other a driving sim. In terms of visual quality PGR4 dosent even hold a candle to GT so dnt even try to compare. I don't know why you fanboys are so immature how can you look at GT visuals and still try to drag it dwn its beyond me we all know you can see it and it looks f*kin spectacular so jst sit dwn and accept it. You might not get to play it because you dont have a ps3 but relax if you don't play it you wont die jst let it go.
OMFG this is an awesome surprise, didnt expect to be playing this today. Downloading now, cant f***ing wait!!!
Graphics pretty much like what we've seen in the videos, very true to life texturing, cars handle similar to gthd which is fine for a demo. graphics wise nothing out there comes close especially the car modeling... can't wait for gt5, the environment could use some work but again it's a demo so i think they just wanted to show the cars really... GET HYPE ps fans cause this will be big!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is the ground still overly shiny and is the sound of tires screeching under hard braking any different from the one in GTHD?
hmmm i saw some pretty bad pixelated shadows in the demo... Edit: lol fanboys disagreeing :D sorry, but from the in-car camera there were some really bad shadows... and if you are gay, just hit the disagree button, thx.
Where did you guys find it? I checked asia eu and us.
the JP store. Its up there in the list of new releases ;) just look for a car in the small screenshot and the right date :D
This demo is only (for now) available at the Japan PS Store. Got it? Good, go get it.
Have a Ps3 and 360. More of a Ps3 fanboy. Honestly doesnt look much better than GTHD. Thought it would honestly look better. Blows Forza 2 out of the water. PGR4 could compare in graphics not handling or controls or performance. Seems like it has some cool features. If you are into GT youll like it. Im not a GT freak, so i mainly go for looks, features, etc and its just not very different from GTHD. Obviously you race against people in GT5 compared to GTHD etc, but I was expecting a huge graphical boost which is not. And I cant get into the car view in the demo either. However shows on replay so probably just demo. Jaggies when run @ 720p pretty noticable. Not nearly as bad as Forza 2.
Looks like GTHD with 16 cars on the track at once (which I remember more than a few slamming GTHD saying that the car graphics were only that good because it only had one car on the track).
Change your car. New black-masked GT-R is not realeased yet, so no in-car view. ;-)
yep the shadows are pretty jaggy gt5 still looks better than pgr4. dosent look a lot better than GTHD however it does have a cleaner look. you were expecting a huge jump dnt knw why considering we all saw the videos and it looked amazing then and is in no way a dissapointment frm what we saw. the jaggies will be fixed before release though remember the game is still a work in progress
I've come close to creating a japanese account several times for various japan-store-only but have decided against it due to my extreme laziness. This game, however, has gotten me to create an account and i am now at 13%(I'm a little late) CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
has anyone tested it with g25 shifters is it compatable it was only gas and break with gthd we need some clutch useage im stil on 36% -_- so many people must be downloading
Its the same as all the screens and videos. Replays are a car fans dream and a sight to behold - close up detail is amzing with even the wing mirrors reflecting. Gameplay graphics are great with 60fps with no hits or tearing - its a track so don't expect that much detail beyond track and crowds(the city courses will provide that), shadows are great for the most part but tree shadows across cars are chunky (if a shadow ruins the whole game or causes you to seek superiority from another car game then I feel sorry for you) but may be fixed as everything else is so polished anyway, the crowd looks a bit poor though at times. Music has been updated and there are some nice new tracks, Skid sounds are the same sample (no!) but have been softened a tad. Environment noises of cars as they whoosh by helps things along too. Pit/menu graphics are amazing and are all rendered by the game engine. I had to force myself to play the game and skip them but GT has always been about the cars and the detail on the models is by far the best I have seen in a game. The handing feels great and the other car AI is improved. Anyone who thinks GT's handling is flawed should drive a real car around a track one day. Forza has better feel in the tyre sim but GT feels better in the weight distribution side but these are early impressions in an early version of an early version of a full game due out a year or so from now.
Here's a link to a tutorial on setting up a Japanese PSN account. I was having trouble since I don't know a lick of Japanese. http://blogs.ign.com/xheave...
i have force feedback!!! with my G25!!! ahaha i'm drifting as i type lol
dude is H shift+Clutch shifting useable i also have a g25 lol still downloading
I got told that the Japanese PSN and the Hong Kong PSN received the same content so I created a HK account earlier (coz its in English) and now I look and its not there and for some reason it wont allow me to make a JP account now either :( So unfair, I would love to play Gran Turismo tonight. EDIT: Scratch that, just got it to accept my registration, yey 9% D/L already.
Free GT demo is exclusive to Japaneses due to Tokyo car show. we may get it within next couple of weeks. I'd rather wait for it to appear on UK Store
i luv this site even thou a lot fanboy here crazy like me lol but thnks for the update downloading 5%
omg! that shyt is amazing lol i can play this all day :P graphics are sweet in pit view +g25 racing wheel i loved the bmw handaling tracktion of <3 cant wait for online xD cya guy i need to get back on hahaha its sweet
let me start my career mode already. i need to start working on some cars for you guys online :) sweet demo :) ^_^ p.s. lol, that 135i will not sell in america. hehehe
I like how you can race other cars, but the graphics arent too much better than GTHD.
I played the demo twice now, and my ps3 crashed 2 times aswell. It happens when it's loading the race.. Hope it isn't my ps3... Has this happened to anybody else?
try downloading the demo again, has happened to me in the past. I just redowloaded and installed and worked perfectly. Haven't had any crashes or anything weird on the GT5 demo.
Maybe the downloading got corrupt - delete it and download it again if you want to make sure its not your ps3 :)
-graphics are about the same as GTHD, maybe a little better -but this time theres 15 other cars to race against. -1 track -1 view (inside car, cant change it) -(i think) 5 cars to choose from. the new GT-R, lancer, and bmw 135i are what i can remember for now. theres three other cars that are in the showroom but they are locked. since its the japanese demo i cant read if they are unlockable or not but i won first place with all the available cars on the only track there is and they are still locked =/ the feel of the driving is awesome. you literally almost lunge forward when you hit the brakes. the body roll is very realistic and overall feel is just great. this is shaping up to be a great game, cant wait for the US store to get it so i can understand whats going on a little better. id give the demo a 9.5/10 for where it is at this point in time. the full game doesnt come out till some time next year so they still have a lot of time to work on it. the addition of 16 player online is going to top it off. replay value should be great with this game!
to change views.
This is the most amazing racing game I have played to date. You can t go wrong with this game. when I heard the gt5 prologue costs money I was like im not buying that . But now I played it and dam is it worth it. Needs some imporving on the mirrors and the shadows. Everything else is like unreal. Truly a peice of art.
My verdict : Best gameplay in any racer yet but graphics are kinda jaggy (they're still very good though). AWESOME
First all the useless hype aside, this game is a lot of fun, a joy even with the six axis. Controls with dpad feel so so good(a lot better than Forza and PGR) Graphically, its sort of feels similar to GTHD except the car models are of higher polygon count and the lighting is a lot better. Somethings need to be ironed out namely reflections, self shadowing, motion blur and depth of field. Currently they just suck for the most part(screenshots are decieving, as they dont show the artifacts). Track detail except for grass, maybe trees and other minor stuff is actually pretty good. Resolution seems to be true 1080p(better than GTHD, but the menus somehow has more aliasing). When you look at what seems to be the power lines, they had no aliasing whatsoever. Of course we are talking about a demo of a demo of a game thats probably coming out one year later. GT5 sure buy for me.
Amazing, absolutely friggin' amazing man! The first car, the masked car Nissan GT-R i believe has rubbish handling, so go for the other cars, BWM 135i, Subaru, Lancer etc they handle like a dream and plus THERE IS DASHBOARD view for those cars - the dashboard details is like the most detailed ever! In the replays the heat haze is stonkingly realistic, the tires of the 135i is just insane, the most realistic wheels ever in a racer i might add! Heck all of the details of the cars, scenery etc is incredible, considering all at 700mbs or so! Btw, if you leave the game idle, demos of other tracks will be played, you can even control the replays to a certain degree, ones you've raced in and ones demoed, press up/down on the dpad to change cars, SELECT to change car camera and the square and X buttons zoom in and out the race. PS: When the complete version is available, the Blu-Ray version will contain crash damage physics apparently! Cannot wait for the full retail game now, my faith in the Gran Turismo series has been totally restored!!! GT FTW!!! :D
I hope the graphics get better. There was quite a bit of aliasing on the edges of the track and the replays didn't look anywhere near as pretty as the screen shots we've seen. In all, it looked a lot like the HD concept.
a demo of a demo? lol
Is that what you really think? No wonder putting a different sized HD in a PS3 confuses you Xbots.
can't wait for RUMBLE SUPPORT... especially with people here talking about the great controls and lurching with the car! oof
GT5P is stunning. Running at a slilky smooth 60 FPS.:)
I was a bit disapointed in all honesty.... Im hoping the full game will be mint and i will buy it whatever anyway as I do love the gt series but it just didnt seem that special to me... unless its just that i've looked forward to it for so long that id hoped for me. detail on the cars is unreal though... especially when your going to over take someone and can see their interior etc
Well your entitled to your opinion on gt4 but do you really have to stoop so low as to start name calling just because i gave my oppinion? i honestly think pgr4 is a better game graphics dont always make a game good its got to have more like a bit of sole, 2 me gt4 is to clean and just not exciting enough no heart or sole nice car modle graphics just dont cut it alone and thats my oppinion.oh and yes i do have a ps3 or how ellse would i have played the demo DHO.
