Five games that have gamers drooling over their near release.
never even heard of shadows of the damned or max payne im most looking forward to uncharted 3 and final fantasy
Well, you should've. It's like the most original title this year! (Shadows of the Damned, that is)
Shadows of the Damned is a game from with combination efforts from some very well known and strong Japanese developers. The main people involved are Shiji Mikami (creator of Resident Evil), Suda 51 (aka Goichi Suda, creator of No More Heroes), and Akira Yamaoka (sound designer and composer for the Silent Hill games). It looks to combine everyone's best efforts into a very cool looking title. Definitely worth keeping on your radar. I'm surprised you've not heard of Max Payne before this though, as that was an established franchise, which had both prior games release on PS2/Xbox/PC. It could be argued, but I believe that it was the first game to use "bullet time", and told a very dark and gritty story. It was developed by Remedy, who went on to do Alan Wake. They won't be involved with Max Payne 3 in any real significant way however, and instead Rockstar Vancouver will be taking over. Many old fans of the series are displeased by the game's overall makeover, going from noir-style, dark and gritty, into more colorful and what's been described as generic looking enviornments, as well as redesigning Max to look more like many other protagonists in games nowadays (references often made to Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell, Kane and Lynch, and others). About the article, I have to say that for all the excitement I initially had towards Deus Ex: Human Revolution, I've lost a lot of my anticipation for it. Considering it was supposed to be released in (I believe) February, and then for it to get delayed until August, was admittedly a disappointment. More than that, with things like the announcement that the PC version won't support mods, I dunno how I feel about it anymore. I was already not really a fan of them scrapping the health system for regen-based health, and especially scrapping melee weapons in favor of take-downs. It's still a little while away, but as of right now I'm not anticipating it to be as good as I was before. That aside, the other games on the list look promising. I don't think this should necessarily be a "Top 5" list though, because there's way too many games that could be top 5 material (as can be seen with all the honorable mentions).
Dang, this is a hard year to pick a top five because there are so many good games. My top 5 would probably have to be: Deus Ex Human Revolution The Witcher 2 Uncharted 3 Skyrim Battlefield 3 ...in no particular order.
Yeah, it is hard to nail down a Top 5 anticipated because it changes from person to person. I don't like Resident Evil and all and that new game from Shinji Mikami just looks ridiculous to me. I would also put Skyrim at the tip top of my list of most anticipated since Mass Effect 3 has now been delayed into next year.
These may be this site's most anticipated games, but they are not the most anticipated games for 2011 in reality. I would say that Gears of War 3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3, and maybe Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception would be the most anticipated, having millions upon millions of gamers waiting upon their releases.
Too many games to fit them all, but the ones I am Looking forward the most are: Star Wars: The Old Republic Battlefield 3 The Witcher 2(only a week away!) Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim
The guy in the red/white striped shirt in the L.A. Noire gameplay video, isn't that the Cop from Heroes ?
no Battlefield 3, no The Witcher 2 and no Skyrim!! what kind of lists is this?!
I just hope Bethesda doesn't slack on Skyrim like they did with Fallout 3. What I mean is Fallout 3 was super impressive the first 10 hours until you realize that the game is very stiff and repetitive. Bethesda is a super talented dev so I hope they can make this game feel more lively and dynamic than Fallout 3 was.
Dark Souls>>>>>>& gt;>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> ;>>>>>>>&g t;>>>>lots of others that are also great. Great year for gaming.
