NowGamer: EA Canada has revealed that its upcoming SSX game will have online and social features similar to those in Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit...
A once bustling space offering plenty of choices, now a desolate land of greed, did EA really kill the sports game genre?
They made them better than everyone else at first. Once no one was playing any of the inferior options, they turned the investors loose on the customers.
In 2008, Codemasters acquired the license to create the official F1 games, which was carried over to EA Sports after it acquired the studio. However, the long-standing partnership could end after the 2025 season.
EA Sports dropped their first gameplay trailer for College Football 25 today and the game looks truly amazing. Buried in the details of the game hype, however, is a significant letdown for those who play online dynasty (a significant portion of the userbase).
this is good news, ssx is exactly the kind of game that would benefit from a feature like this, perhaps more so than need for speed. beating each others highest scores and times was incredible fun for my brother and i back in the day
its rather strange, when I first heard about the new SSX and the accompanied images(s) and PR spiel, I got really stoked. I played the IP's iterations in the past, having grown up I was looking forward to a more mature and, dare I say, something closer to a boarding simulation.
Then almost overnight the internet blew up with wah wah wah over the new direction. Now we're just getting a rehashed version of previous versions. I've been keeping up with the dev diaries.
I must've been the only one looking for a fresh reboot.
On a related topic, someone make a new snowboarding game dammit!!! Shawn White's SB was wicked and shit*y at the same time. I heard they where planning to do another one with actual real time snow deformation, but I guess that got canned.
Why do I get this sick feeling in my gut that any game associated with Autolog automatically means there will be an Online Pass, too?
Ugh... this must mean online pass.
There goes the resale value!
