SquareGo: Operation Flashpoint: Red River Review "You could do far, far worse than this title"

SquareGo writes:

"It's very clear in Operation Flashpoint: Red River that Codemasters were trying to retain the gritty realism of their past titles, whilst simultaneously making them more accessible and fun for the masses, well, they succeeded."

No competitive Multiplayer?
Not for me.

sprayNpray4731d ago

Ya, when I read that I stopped right there and closed the tab.

Yeah you could also do worse than syphilis, that doesn't make it desirable.

I'd hoped this game was better that dragon rising but its actually worse. In fact its shocking to see a AAA title in a AAA franchise with a powerful engine, and influential publishers and competent dev studio fuck up SO badly.

Broken (not bad, BROKEN) AI renders this game unplayable.

Tell me the PC version actually comes with a CD key this time around...

Same Chief

Off Topic: John man I can't wait for your game!

guitarded773551d ago

Some mediocre - crap games there. Couldn't even include any Codemasters racing games? It's the only thing they're good at.

Canadiangamernet3551d ago

Including the Dirt series in the bundle would have been awesome but i wouldn't say they are crappy games. I liked Overlord 1 & 2 and both Operation Flashpoint are decent FPS the other one are so so for me.

guitarded773551d ago

Like I said... crappy to mediocre. I liked Overlord too. Didn't care for Operation Flashpoint. But eve liking Overlord, I have no illusions that it isn't a mediocre game.

AntsPai3551d ago

Even though it's still technically a good deal, the whole $5 or £4 thing annoys me. Humble bundle doesn't do this. No thanks.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River - The Shooter That Could Have Been The Greatest

Mobile & Apps: "One of the most underrated shooters of the previous generation was Operating Flashpoint: Red River for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. With all its problems, I believe this is a game that is worth playing, however, it is not too hard to see why the game didn't quite kick off, as it should have."

I liked it, didn't quite finish it though. Maybe I will now.

Loved this game, it was dumbed down from Dragon Rising but still an enjoyable game. Was still offputting to people looking for instant/non stop action

Theangrybogan4109d ago

Ha! Some colleagues and I are actually planning on hitting this one up tonight. Great game.
