Industry veteran and No More Heroes creator Goichi 'Suda51' Suda believes games companies are still putting too much stock in how their games perform on Metacritic.
Imagine there are a bunch of non contributing zeros who criticize everything and create nothing.
Now take the worst of those hollow, meaningless people and pick out just the garbage, just the dregs. That's Metacritic. Now pretend those numbers mean anything.
They most certainly do. That's why so many went to DEI crazy town. They think it's more important to appeal to the journo crowd instead of their actual customers.
And look at how much money they've been losing. But it doesn't mean anything to them cuz they get paid by the companies funding all of the shitty DEI companies anyways.
He ain't wrong, i wish he would make more games these days, the world needs more games like his right now
Well it's a expensive hobby. Sooo yea if people are gonna buy stuff it usually has to be well recieved.

Game Rant talked to Suda51 about a potential sequel to Shadows of the Damned, and here's what he had to say.
Man, I’d love to get a sequel. I wish that’s was this was instead of a remaster, but it’s such a niche title. It won’t sell gamgbusters, unfortunately.
I am not sure what they are looking for sales wise but it can’t be much more than it originally sold if it’s even that much. I’d guess it just needs to sell well enough but who knows what that actually is. I still have the PS3 copy not sure if I’ll buy a remaster or not.
Suda51 is one of the worst developers of all time!
if u really pay attention to the trailers, you can kinda see that they're hiding it's semi-low production value. of course it's not close to movie-tie-in low though...but in the splatterhouse range, not RE4 range. but still looks interesting
I see some damage control on this!In a recent statement Suda have state that the game its not exactly what he an mikami had in mind and that in is vision the game will end up more dark and weird but due to EA that wanted a game to reach a more types of gamers they end up downgrade is final version of the game!Now he claims other way.... !
