Sony Shows That Saying "I’m Sorry" Isn’t Enough in Japan

Kotaku: This Sunday, as the Golden Week holidays began in Japan, Sony execs Kazuo Hirai, Shinji Hasejima and Shiro Kambe answered reporters' questions about the PSN breach that put the private details of over 70 million gamers at risk. The execs didn't just apologize for the breach, but bowed for seven seconds.

yes, that happen, and yes, it was a horrible tragedy. the tail of the aircraft blew out, the plane started to ascend and descend, the pilots had no idea what happened, they were speaking to the ATC about the situation, people were writing their final goodbyes to their families. After that, the unthinkable happened, the plane crashed.

error was human error. i forgot what the error was, look it up on youtube, i've seen it, and the voice recorder shows the grim fate the pilots, crew and passangers were going to first seconds from disaster. its up on youtube as well.

@Ravinash, They need to show and prove that they can keep people's info under wraps better.. as far as their diagram shows this was done by a damn 12 year old running a script.. that's just awful one person shouldn't have been able to pull this off. It's been 10 days and my credit card info might be stolen, if they did their job in the first place this wouldn't have happened. My SOCOM beta is waisting away and there are a lot of games I can't play because I bought them on PS3...my mistake I guess.

At least I have my 360 too to play online, albeit with a limited catalogue of games. But still, it pisses me off that I just finished school and only have a few days before work starts so FU Sony, free or not, you guys F'd up big time.

This is off topic but the gaming community needs to know about this. Torrence Davis (Thebitbag.com)his staff and Hiphop Gamer have been caught lying on his podcast since some of the early episodes and there over 100+ episodes.

The link Provided is based on a staff member and his name is "Fats" (ALEX BERNHARDT)he lied about being a game developer on the warzone and Torrence and his crew knew he was lying the entire time. They used him to shut anyone up who had someone negative to say against the xbox 360 or any other idea or bullshit Torrence wanted shove down listeners throats.

Tbh that sort of apology in Japan is the biggest way you can sorry I believe. Now Sony royally screwed up with their security but this is possibly the most degrading and meaningful apology they could have made and I actually would praise them for doing this. You'd never get microsoft execs going that far to apologise and it sure beats "we're sorry for any inconveniences this might cause, we thank you for your patience" BS most companies would give.

I think what people don't understand is: if you're not from Japan, that 7, 9, 170234 seconds of bowing doesn't mean shit to us. Different cultures respect different things. Just because that shows respect in Japan; doesn't mean it's accepted as respect elsewhere. Besides, they're doing the bowing for their own country. If you'll take notice where the press conference was held..it wasn't in Africa; I'll tell u that much. :P
