Mortal Kombat 9 Review (Gameplay Today)

Throw any predispositions you may have towards Mortal Kombat out the window; Mortal Kombat 9 is the best game in the series bar none. Perfectly blending classic gameplay elements of the original MK trilogy with modern fighting-game concepts marks this entry as an instant classic, almost making me forget how low the franchise had fallen.

And that's the same MF'er that said it would suck because MK wasn't as good as Stret Fighter. He's eating crow now. I'm been tearing MK up. Or it's been tearing me up, lol.

RioKing4893d ago

Damn, I need to buy this game NOW.

Edit: Bought it! :)

Schism204893d ago

Yea its like 40 bucks I believe on Amazon. I hate when that happens because I paid full price for this game on day 1 then 2 weeks later the price goes down to 40. O well at least im supporting the devs I guess.

RioKing4893d ago

^ Yep, Amazon, epically fast with epically large shipping charges for fast shipping.

I'm pretty sure alot of long time veterans of MK like myself aren't getting much sleep at night tossing and turning in their beds wondering why Ed boon sold out his loyal fanbase to cater to newcomers! Dont these developers care about the people that help them gain their fame and fortune! MK sold millions in the past and sadly this will bring average sales do to abandoning what made oh so renowned!

limewax4893d ago

lol go buy it fool, you have no idea what you are talking about

lochdoun4893d ago (Edited 4893d ago )

Agreed.
I am dissapointed in this game. I bought it for $30, played it for 2 hours trying to force myself to like it but I just couldn't get over the things they left out or cheaped out on, then sold it the same day for $35. So at least I made a profit.
This coming from someone who enjoyed MK on the Megadrive.

^What did they leave out, I haven't played the last few so I have no idea...

You are the farthest thing from an MK fan, you were probably brought up on the recent disasters like Armaggeddon or Deadly Alliance. Anyone that played the original 3 games will love this.

MK veterean...please...lol

I agree. 9 was awesome

Shaolin Monks next please

vTuro2459d ago

Shaolin Monks is a forgotten gem. I would love to see a new one, or a remake of the old.

That game was actually goated. It was the first time ever that I actually tried to get good at a fighting game. Unfortunately the online connection was so dogshit it made it hard to enjoy and eventually I gave up. Haven't really played much fighting games since.

The catched the woke virus after that, saying for MK 10 that "Female Characters Will Be More Realistically Proportioned". You could still rip a spine or blow a head in a bloody explosion, but don't you dare to show a side boob or all hell will break loose.

The ladies in MK9 look like men in drag. They are so buff and their faces are so bad, I don’t feel like we lost anything aside from some sexy costumes. But sexy costumes in drags do not appeal to me.
