So with all the data leaks that have gone on recently I decided to give Sony a call and ask them about my personal data that they have in their posession as a result of me using the PSN. I called their tech support line at 1-800-345-SONY and was greeted with a message that they had terminated PSN services as a result of a breech very similar to the message posted on the Playstation Blog earlier today.
I pressed 0, waited on hold for less than a minute (very suprised, good job for once Sony) and was greeted by a young man asking me for my home phone number, which I happily handed over, he verified some minimal info with me to make sure he had the right profile and proceeded to ask me how he could help me.
Sony has recruited Bungie's head of revenue Jaremy Rich to head up its live-service gaming division, Rich has announced on social media.
Please do not put Destiny’s monetization into Sony’s first party games. The monetization is what’s driving players away from Destiny.
I mean, this person made some pretty bad decisions at Bungie. I hope they've learned from them because I definitely don't see those type of ideas as good for PlaySation in general.
Ps5 gamers in 2023 seemed to play more live service types of games, so regardless to how people feel about them, numbers don’t lie and Sony is going where the money is. I mean look at the excitement around Helldivers2, people are showing that they want live service games.
How do you kill a franchise that already been killed?
Destiny’s grind, cash-in-on-playbass-cha-Ching, and pop-culture-insertion mainstream-me-too bs totally killed any rep Bungie had. Sony/Bungie, if you are doing this to ward-off players, it’s already working.
Sony has patented to add multiple dialogue modes to let players switch between how many conversations with NPCs they want in the game.
Sony is like the only ones outta the 3 that has atuff like like this pop up changing thing in ways.
Genuine Enabling Technology was seeking damages, claiming the tech allowing PlayStation consoles and controllers to communicate infringes its rights.
Sounds like patent trolling they tried the same thing against Nintendo with the same pattern.
Motion and control input traversing over higher and lower frequencies seperate from each other allowing the controller to do both
So to recoup the money Genuine is going to take on Nintendo or Microsoft next. I hate patent lawyers they are some of the worst bottom feeders out there.
"Sony rep says 100% no personal data leaked"
While i dont support the hackers, i wouldnt believe everything told to me by some company employee. Its not like we would catch one of their own employees saying "so and so data was leaked", its not like someone would like to lose their job by placing such a statement.
I would expect that to be the standard response from Sony at this time. My credit card info is still on my PS account that I cannot access. Good thing I have a good fraud protection on my card so no worries. But after all this I think I will start using Prepaid PS cards to avoid any hassles.
Yeah ranshank, I mention at the bottom of the full article that I don't believe what he is saying, but I report it anyway because in the end if something is a wry, people who have been affected may have some sort of recourse against Sony.
I have always supported the idea of PSN gift cards slazer101. However they were not always available in all areas. Canada didn't receive them until over a year after the US. I would also recommend against the use of Prepaid Credit Cards, many of them have very high surcharges.
well thank f*ck for that
