There's an article up on CNN by Scott Steinberg that discusses story in video games. Specifically, where they are heading. It is the opinion of the writer that video games have seen tremendous advancements in storytelling over the years, but that if developers are going to keep drawing new customers in it's going to take a concentrated effort on the continuous development and progression of storytelling to do it. In other words (to paraphrase the author) it's story lines that are going to decide gaming's next killer apps and not graphics.

What a stupid thing to be wasting time, money and effort. Aren't these guys literally drowning right now? Maybe y'all should focus more on that instead trying to stop people from playing old games no longer being sold.
Pretty sure I've read and seen parts of Italy experiences/ing pretty bad floodings. Id argue that's more important than trying to prevent the sale of emulation devices.
