There's always some supervillain/monster/alien race who's threatening to conquer the Earth or blow up the galaxy, and it's up to you to stop him/her/it/them. Terrible list. Fallout not being number one is more than a joke. Seriously, Fallout 1 & 2 defeated by Zelda and FFVI?!? What drug were they using.

Nuclear bombs ARE The apocalypse and Fallout's intro shows that better than any other game (With Ron Perlman narrating over pictures and footage of the dying world in black & white). Now THAT's apocalypse.
Number 1 and number 2 should have been Fallout 1 and 2.
