Bargain hunters, rejoice: an Australian website is working on an automated system for monitoring region-specific price-gouging on Steam.

It's high time someone did something like this; Australians have grown weary of paying far more than the rest of the world for video games (and everything else). The era of digital downloads was supposed to level the playing field, but since Valve's digital download service allows publishers to set different prices for the same product in different countries, certain companies have been charging us prices that are spectacularly out of synch with the current exchange rates.

Wow. That appears to be really pricey. What looks like $90 for the upcoming FPS, Brink? That's crazy.
