look at the numbers and then compare them to just one month of NPD numbers.

counter strike is talking about the EU, not just france

wenaldy2744d ago

Its Europe... Do American can tell difference between France and Europe...?

mendicant2744d ago

@wenaldy,

What a typically ignorant, elitist European attitude to have. By attempting to insult Americans, you have failed to miss the point of what he was saying. He didn't say anything about France he was making a broader point and you had to insult him.

"Between December 27, 2010 and April 10, 2011, 174,269 were sold PS3, Wii 131 404, Xbox360 107 000."

In France in almost 4 months they sold:
174k PS3's
131k Wii's
107k Xbox360's

... and in the USA just last month they sold:
Nintendo DS - 460k
Xbox 360 - 433k
Nintendo 3DS - Slightly Under 400k
Wii - 290k

WOW ... that's quite a difference.

Reefskye2744d ago

well the USA does have a population just over 300 million compared to Frances 63m

Chaos692744d ago (Edited 2744d ago )

And India has a population of over a billion... your point?

Reefskye2744d ago

Point being there is going to be a big difference in numbers between USA and France. India well that would help if a large portion of the 1 billion didn't live under the poverty line and couldn't afford any of these consoles..

elmaton982744d ago (Edited 2744d ago )

Yo chaos. India may have a huge population of people, but when money come, they dont have as much as the USA, so please stop.beiging a ignorant.

MaximusPrime2744d ago

The world are not interested in USA.

LunaticBrandon2744d ago

Yet idiots continue to shout USA =/= the world. It might not be but its far more relevant than the majority of countries when it comes to the gaming industry.

PirateThom2744d ago (Edited 2744d ago )

In what way? Revenue? Of course it does, it's population size alone should cover that... but, it's completely irrelevent to me.

It's not like the US has a monopoly on game development at the highest levels.

Some non-US games include LittleBigPlanet (UK), Mass Effect (Canada), Killzone (Netherlands), Metal Gear Solid (Japan), Fable (UK), Crysis (Germany), Assassin's Creed (Canada), Battlefield (Sweden), STALKER (Ukraine) on and on.

USA does contribute, but many of the top tier franchises today are NOT American.

Bluemaster772743d ago

You are copletely correct lB Nay sayers of the U.S. hegemony have no real knowledge about economic systems . The US is the largest churning economy in the world by large , thus making it the MOST important market

starchild2744d ago

France /= the world.

I know you guys are just talking about the numbers at hand, but I thought it was important to make that clear. ;)

The PS3 is hitting it's stride I don't see it slowing down anytime soon.

The PS3 hit 50m consoles in March.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/w...
It is now the middle off April. By May the PS3 will be closer to 51m.

palaeomerus2743d ago

360 hit 50 million in January.

PirateThom2743d ago

It was also out longer and has always been at a lower price point.

What's 2 months compared to that start?

PS3 in second before the end of the year, count on it.

Clarence2743d ago

You are correct sir. The 360 hit 50m in January, it took only 6yrs and RROD for that to happen. Meanwhile it took the PS3 5yrs to hit 50m, and it did it with a higher price point, and constant bashing from the media. This is how you know that the PS3 has hit its stride.

The 360 has no games coming out until November. The PS3 will be in 2nd by the summer.

Agent_hitman2743d ago

@Clarence

Yeah you are right, after all that bashing from the bias 360 bloggers/journalists, PS3 is still strong.
