Mortal Kombat Director Kevin Tancharoen Believes Dead Space and Heavy Rain Will Make Good Movies

Hollywood Kevin Tancharoen (Fame) who directed and produced the popular, unofficial Mortal Kombat: Rebirth fan short, has brought the same immersive directing style to the official live-action digital series, Mortal Kombat: Legacy. After his video got 10 million video hits, Warner Bros. gave the director the keys to the franchise in digital form and he attracted Hollywood talent like Jeri Ryan and Michael Jai White to step into the iconic video game fighters’ roles. The director talks about his prequel anthology and gives his thoughts on the challenges of adapting games to film and television in this exclusive video interview.

I quite like him. He's animated and creative. I hope the web series turns out as well as the short. I saw a clip the other day and my only criticism was that when the characters got hit they didn't really look like they got hit. When people are punching the crap out of each other I think it looks more visceral and realistic when they actually react to it. Maybe by looking like it actually hurts a bit and/or some cut and bruising make up.

It seemed a bit too tame for a MK series, hope they up the blood, and character development (which was epically shown in Rebirth) in the next episode.
