L.A Noire has nudity, violence and over 5 hours of cut-scenes

The British Board of Film Classification has passed Rockstar's L.A Noire with an 18 certificate, and revealed that the game contains over five hours of cut-scenes.

Anyone who's even dabbled in a R* game knows exactly what's in store - it sure as hell isn't gonna be My Little Pony.

Below - Tru dat. But it seems that, no matter who is developing the game, if R* are involved then the words 'controversial' and 'adult-themed' aren't too far behind.

That't true to some extent but Team Bondi is the developer of LA NOIR.

R* is just the publisher.

Rockstar have had a massive input in the games actual development.

They haven't just been sitting on the sidelines (like most publishers) waiting for the game to be finished, so they can put it into production.

They have to a certain degree, co-developed L.A Noire. The core work was done by Team Bondi (when they were being funded by Sony), but the game has really benefited from Rockstar's expertise in creating a living, breathing world, and a lot the polishing of gameplay mechanics & graphics ect. is being done at the moment by Rockstar employees.

The project has been al-likened to the Merc McLaren, a car built by McLaren in England but heavily influenced by the input and funding from Mercedes, resulting in one of the finest supercars ever built.

Was any one not expecting this...Its a R* game...Of course it will b rated 18...I think this game ratings is a joke, Cuz that wont stop people under 18 playing the game..When i was young my parents bought me games rated mature and it still goes on 2day.

Many open-world games have hours of cutscenes nowadays. That's not surprising.

actually 5 hrs cutscenes arent a bad thing ... i rememper GTA IV had 7 hrs cutscenes or somthing like that
Cause Rockstar's games GTA,RDR like depends on (3-4 minutes cutscene + alot of Story conversation during Gameplay)then 5 hrs cutscenes isnt a bad thing

I guess - It just sounds like a lot when you hear it like that.

Its possibly that cutscenes are going to play a bigger part in this game than any other - with all the observational detective work that we are going to have to do.

yeah but i guess the Detective work also part of the gameplay doesnt count for the cutscenes ..... and for my knowlage cutscenes when you put the controller and only watching i think so

Cutscenes are fine, as long as they are entertaining and makes sense! Metal Gear Solid 4 cutscenes didn't make sense at all.

n4g commentors are the worst hypocrites.When mgs4 came out it was "enjoy your $60 movie ps3 fanboys" now its "it OK to have five hours of cut scenes because they mean something".
